They've been scarce on the ground, but USA did have a half hour drama called "Beyond Reality"--it was about two paranormal investigators, one more of an intuitive believer, the other more of a scientific skeptic. It started in 1991, and concluded after a second season, in 1993.
Not HUGELY successful, but successful enough to last two seasons, at a time when not that many people had cable.
Probably successful enough to attract Chris Carter's attention, as he desperately looked for ideas to base a show around, while pretending they all came from him.
now here is what I dont get, why did abc waste the post SW slot on the bachelor, couldnt they have started the season with october road, especially in the first month when dancing led directly into the 10 pm hour
and if abc will put SW and NFTU at 9, then put OR at 10, what will they put at 8?
I dont believe ABC has put out their December schedule yet... so December may all be repeats and we may not know SW? real ratings numbers in a post DWTS slot until Jan 2008... starting Jan 7th ABC Mondays look like this..
8:00/7:00c - "Dance War" (Series Premiere) 9:00/8:00c - "Samantha Who?" 9:30/8:30c - "Notes from the Underbelly" 10:00/9:00c - "October Road"
8pm in December will be holiday specials. ABC has a ton of them. I suspect Samantha Who? will air a lot of repeats that month.

Expect that number to go down in the spring and if they don't recover from this mess, I don't think it'll go past these numbers. Could be wrong, could be right.

How do you guys think the show is? How much of a drop do you expect when it loses the DWTS lead-in and going against Two and a Half Men?
Monday has two new bona-fide hit comedies, as far as I'm concerned. This one and "Big Bang," which is obviously in it for the long haul.
"Samantha" will lose some audience when "D-Listers" goes away, of course, but nowhere near the extent that "Help Me Help You" did. "Help" took a nosedive in week 2 and had poor 18-49 retention.
The best part of "Samantha's" ratings is how much less forgiving ABC will now be with "Cavemen's."
-- "Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."
I think it's great. Hope it maintains most of its post-DWTS viewership when Stars ends...

Well, Mondays aint too bad right now. I & some friendsDVRd mosta the shows(Except "Bachelor", which I won't watch, period) cuz I watch FOOTBALL live on Mondays when it's on.
"Sam Who?" aint bad, but it COULD be a little funnier.

Funny how someone goes negative on Heroes and this data is pulled out immediately. Heroes has lost viewers and it will continue if they don't pick it up. For Lost however, everyone looked only at the fast nationals and started insulting the show.
I'm sorry but Heroes has crappy writing from time to time.
Example #1: When that guy asked Peter to do him a favor and THEN he would give him the box that contained his stuff, why wouldn't Peter just take the box from the guy using telekinesis? That type of consistency just bugs the hell out of me
Example #2: When Hiro goes into the past, why doesn't he come back at the same time he left? Why does he come back to the current time and not to the same exact moment he left?
Example #3: When that girl Hiro was with in the last episode was going to be shot, why not freeze time and stop the bullet instead of taking her to another place and showing his power. I think this was done, horribly by the way, to have an intimate moment with the girl so she can fall for him. Why? I would bet a huge amount of money it was because Masi asked for this after all the gay rumors. It just felt so forced that all of a sudden he has a love interest. No matter what they say, they aren't going to make me believe other wise. It makes me hate Masi Oka that much more.
Well Heroes ratings getting down is pretty logic..I mean lets face it...this show changed from a fantastic season 1 to a plain boring first 5-6 episodes of Season 2. The fans are not really getting something to really look forward. I`m definitely not tuning in for heroes next week because of Prison break`s 2hr event but I`m not even sure I`ll tune in in 2 weeks time.
Hey I suppose there is a bright side, Heroes isn't tumbling to nothing like some other shows like Bionic Woman.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, NBC may be about to pay a major compliment to Grey's Anatomy. Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock is developing an episode of The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series à la Private Practice.
Why would anyone equate the spinoff with Grey's Anatomy? Spinoffs have been around for decades.

I, too, am sad about how poorly Journeyman is faring in the Nielsen measures. Last nights episode was particularly strong as Dan went back to his own youth and childhood years in a story that wove past into present quite artfully.
Chuck was also on the spot last night, and Miss Sarah Lancaster and Mr. Ryan McPartlin were finally given more to do beyond making dinner or serving up the pizza.
And ABC's new single-camera hit comedy Samantha Who continues to grow stronger yet, showcasing the flashy wit of Miss Christina Applegate yes, but butressed by the comedic talents of Mr. Barry Watson.
