If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, NBC may be about to pay a major compliment to Grey's Anatomy. Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock is developing an episode of The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series à la Private Practice.
However, unlike Practice, which stole Grey's regular Kate Walsh to anchor the new series, the proposed Office 2 is not expected to include any of the mother ship's core cast. In fact, producers are already casting about for a "name" to headline the potential show....
For what it's worth, I think CBS should try switching BBT and HIMYM. If BBT is actually the stronger show (and I tend to think it's just the higher HUT level at 8:30), then it should lead off the night.

Tough to tell with "Samantha Who" on the ABC side but there seems to be real interest. Considering how a previous post-Dancing sitcom flopped ("Help Me Help You"), "Samantha Who" seems to have at least accomplished something.
I've had the "half hour" thought on CHUCK as well, even though it wouldn't necessarily be a fix and likelihood of network doing something like that is low. But this show has included too many pieces, some of which are providing zero entertainment value.
SAM - the interesting thing is that I don't think this show has really found its voice yet. Humorous situations, yes, but translating into something consistently clever or funny? Questionable. I'm staying with this, but creatively it has been a mild disappointment so far.

Has there been a sucessful half hour drama since ADAM 12 went off the air?

Can Heroes rebound? or has it gone the way of Lost in terms of total viewers? meaning start out huge..sustain... creative lull.... lose viewers that don't come back for the most part... and then sort of level off in that 11M range ( with DVR numbers )
Lost took a way bigger hit, I don't think Heroes has ever gone past 15m viewers. Lost hit 23m at some point. Losts only creative drop off was the first 8 episodes of the third season. And compared to Heroes, Lost was way more creative in that stretch than Heroes has been thus far this season. Seasons one and two of Lost blows Heroes away IMO. And this drop off in creativity came in season three, Heroes managed to do it in season two. I don't think you'll ever see Heroes go past 13 million ever again.

How do you guys think the show is? How much of a drop do you expect when it loses the DWTS lead-in and going against Two and a Half Men?
It is possible that when 'Samantha Who?' goes head-to-head with 2&1/2Men the timeslot will have the Top 2 comedies in primetime for the week. I think that Samanthas Who? has a legitimate shot at pulling in more viewers than Rules of Engagement.
is the show good? Well, I didn't give it a 'fair shake' since I had to turn it off after about 10 minutes. I have enjoyed Christina Applegate in a few movies, but she had little appeal in this show. meanwhile, Jean Smart was on screen to drive me away.
