I believe it is. Smallville's been on the air too long. With Lex gone it's lost any momentum it had.
I've been truly surprised with the numbers Smallville has been putting up this year. I thought for sure it would tank, due to its age and departing cast members. Looks like it held up just long enough to make sure Reaper didn't get paired with Supernatural and earn a renewal for next year.
Figures!
Unfortunately, yes. Reaper deserves another shot because it's a better show than Smallville, but it's not in the cards. It would have been a natural pairing with Supernatural. Reaper's not a Warners show, sadly. Smallville and SPN are. Warner's half the network. Maybe if Reaper had a lot of teenaged girls in it sleeping around with the devil the network would care. Gotta grab that teenybopper chick demo.
I watched Smallville last night because my local CBS station was having trouble with its signal and I couldn't see the basketball games. Why does anyone watch it anymore? Clark's never going to fly. He's never going to be Superman. Lex is gone. What's the point? Everyone who watches it regularly seems to think it's terrible or past its expiration date. I really don't understand the loyalty. Reaper would perform better in the timeslot.

Unfortunately, in order to get those 3 or so extra episodes of ER (NBC had originally only ordered 15 and, when the show began pulling decent numbers wanted to extend its run, looked to add more eps) the cost of those extra eps was Southland in the 10pm Thursday slot when ER finally vacated it. This trade-off necessitated Kings being bumped to Sundays at 8. John Wells is the EP on both shows--ER and Southland.

Thank you I so agree ITM will be a a Disaster. It's another pathetic attempt by ABC to do Comedy. I don't even watch American Idol, but this week I will.

Hill Street Blues? Really? Those are some big shoes to fill. Have you seen a screener of the show already?

Is there some promo that you are all seeing and I am not? The promos that I've seen for this show have been absolutely dreadful. Beyond awful. Melodramatic, over the top, about to burst out in song, Cop Rock awful. Something online maybe?

Very boring episode of ER last night. I don't like Neela at all, and think she is a terrible actor...having an entire episode focused on her is a snore. Hopefully these last 2 episodes really kick up a notch, and we get the old characters back in again!

SOUTHLAND - I haven't seen anything in the promos that really breakthrough. They have to do more than reach the people that are already looking forward to the show.
Will the fact that ER head Wells is the producer count for anything in the casual viewer, or even the ER viewer minds? I think that is nebulous.
My guess is that this will do better than any number of other NBC premieres, including CHUCK and some of the duds they have aired after HEROES. But I don't see a HEROES kind of break out in any way. Time of year, network, and an overall genre that some viewers have grown suspicious of may work against it.

Really? I really liked this episode but I guess that's because I do like Neela and that she and Ray are finally together . I though the flashbacks were done really well along with the whole "wall scene" and it was nice to see Abby again. I think the last two episodes will definitely kick it up a few notches with everyone returning (Well, mostly everyone).
