They're a little down, but not by much. Just a summer flex, I would suspect.

Just wait until July. We'll se lower numbers across the board.

Yeah, why is nashville star considered a loser when it did get the higher ratings of the night and improved on its lead in.

Anyone know when the Emmy nomination voting ends?

I was just discussing this the other day with some co-workers. (We work for an NBC affiliate, and the lead-ins to the 11 pm news have been awful.)

I think Heroes was the last new show that would even be considered a mild success. American Gladiators was a hit for a week or two, and The Singing Bee got strong debut numbers as well, but neither show could keep its audience. I can't think of any other shows that even opened particularly strong.

FOX should leave it where it is and put SARAH CONNOR on WED at 8PM against the weak competition there.

I'm actually happy they moved it to 9...SCC is more compatiable with Heroes than PB, so I really don't think it's going to take many viewers away, and with Sara's return I think the viewership will stablize...It's going to hurt more that they are premiering on Labor Day more than anything...Prison Break only reached the 8 mill mark once in its third season...when it was on during the 9pm hour in a special two-hour showing...so I think it will get good ratings there or the same as in the 8pm hour because the HUT level is much higher...plus they only have to contend with the last half hour with dancing with the stars versus an hour of it, giving the possiblity of viewers tuninig in for the second half hour of prison break for those that don't like samantha who...I like it much better this way

They ought to give the option to vote off "Daddy Montana.".

While "The Mole" isn't the worst reality show ever made, it was killed a few years back by its using "B"-grade red dwarf "stars" & "starlets". Sorry, but that show's toast now. they might air all the eps now in the can, but that'll be it!

The new "American Gladiators" seemsta lack something the original had; I just can't quite put my finger on it. The show wasn't upgraded too much from the original. I believe its run will be over with this edition, sadly.

"Bachelorette"? My goodness; aren't y'all TIRED of this hooey already? I'm glad I have lotsa channels long as this garbage is on the air!

"Million $$ Password?"? Hooray for Betty White! This new incarnation is good as any of the previous ones...Hope it has a decent run!

I'll have to agree there. (Although i actually like some of his music.) He's not a good host at all. He lacks energy and is very cardboard on stage.

CBS took a huge dive in the numbers last night.

Nashville Star isn't a loser. It built in from American Gladiators (althought that isn't hard to do) and is outpacing its USA numbers. Surely NBC has to be happy with it. It is one of the few things working for NBC this summer.

As for The Bachlor, I understand Marc doesn't like it, but he says the same thing in every ratings commentary. We get it. The reason why ABC is still programming it is that it does decently and is a cheap programming option. It is better than putting on re-runs of According to Jim. Putting on something like Supernanny or Wife Swap in its place would generate the same ratings.

The Mole needs to be pulled now. There is just no excuse for those numbers.

I haven't watched last night's Mole yet, but I would bet Marc's life that it is Paul. It's actually a bit boring for me because I'm so sure of it.

I agree. I think it's Paul as well. Apologies to Marc if I'm wrong. Wink

No it shouldn't have....Looking back, the first 13 episodes of the series ran at 9 and it's what made it a mini-hit....Prison Break is violent and belongs in the later hour. This show needs a revivial and it wasn't going to get that in the 8pm hour. It's hit or miss here, and the 9pm hour gives it the best chance for a hit, or at least viewership to 8-9 million again with a 3.4-3.5 demo

I think you're being a little too pessimistic about PB. All I have to go on is my sense of things, but I would be surprised if there was a large overlap between it and HEROES. The age demos may look similar in some respects, perhaps, but those demos are very general and can be misleading.

Also, HEROES is no killer in terms of total audience and has had problems of its own and may continue to. DWTS can hurt any show, but if any show seems somewhat beyond its reach, I would say PB would be one such show.

PB should have ended 1 year ago and will probably get ever more ridiculous when Sarah returns. That is why Fox is sending it to die at 9pm in one of the toughest hours of the week.
