-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats):
AFI’s 10 Top 10 (CBS)

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a Tuesday of mixed leadership, with NBC the most-watched network (270,000 viewers ahead of ABC) and NBA-ignited ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49. The third season-premiere of America’s Got Talent on NBC was off and successfully running, with a healthy 12.76 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown:

America’s Got Talent (NBC)
9:00 p.m. Viewers: 11.50 million (#1), A18-49: 3.8/11 (#2)
9:30 p.m. Viewers: 12.60 million (#1), A18-49: 3.5/ 9 (#3)
10:00 p.m. Viewers: 13.50 million (#2), A18-49: 3.9/10 (#2)
10:30 p.m. Viewers: 13.61 million (#1), A18-49: 4.0/11 (#2)

Comparably, America’s Got Talent built from lead-in Deal or No Deal (Viewers: #1: 8.66 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 7) by a hefty 4.10 million viewers and 76 percent in the demo.

ABC aired another primetime installment of Jimmy Kimmel Live at 8 p.m., followed by the NBA Countdown and game six of the Lakers/Celtics match-up. But since part of the NBA Finals is included in the 8 p.m. hour in the Central Time Zone, what follows is ABC’s performance by half-hour:

ABC/Tuesday
8:00 p.m. Viewers: 7.60 million (#2), A18-49: 2.6/ 9 (#1)
8:30 p.m. Viewers: 8.47 million (#2), A18-49: 3.3/10 (#1)
9:00 p.m. Viewers: 11.44 million (#2), A18-49: 4.7/13 (#1)
9:30 p.m. Viewers: 12.29 million (#2), A18-49: 5.0/13 (#1)
10:00 p.m. Viewers: 13.43 million (#1), A18-49: 5.5/15 (#1)
10:30 p.m. Viewers: 13.53 million (#2), A18-49: 5.7/16 (#1)

Fox was on the map with non-scripted hours The Moment of Truth (Viewers: #4, 5.84 million; A18-49: #2, 2.4/ 8) and Hell’s Kitchen (Viewers: #3, 8.17 million; A18-49: #2, 3.9/11). But CBS’ annual AFI special, themed AFI’s 10 Top 10, sunk to an historical low 5.55 million viewers (#4) and a 1.3/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#4). One year earlier, AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movies averaged 7.71 million viewers and a 1.9/ 6 in the demo on the less competitive Wednesday, June 20, 2007.

Capping off the evening were repeats of the CW’s Beauty and the Geek (Viewers: #5, 1.24 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) and Reaper (Viewers: #5, 1.53 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1).

NBC really needed AGT to hit, and it did. I also don't see the appeal, but clearly I'm in the minority.

Moment of Truth is truly dying.

This special was not that exciting to WANT to watch.
Plus with the Celts in Clinching mode, AGT premiering and Hell's Kitchen all on against it, id really didnt have a chance to begin with.

Just stick with the NCIS repeats, CBS Wink

Fox just may want to rethink its strategy of moving its 5th grader/Lyrics combo from Thurs and banishing the already wilting Moment of truth to Fri. Just a thought.

WOW... Talent did awesome. I did not expect that given it was against the NBA finals! Eeker

NBA did great also(since it'll go up in the finals), but now it's over.

MOT is dying, Hell's Kitchen did good. CBS did pathetic and The CW was non-existent as they have been all summer.

Though the ratings may not have been anything to write home about, last nights special was a thoroughly enjoyable way to honour the 100 most important American films of all time. It was especially moving to see Mr. Kirk Douglas throughout the special, and especially talking about Spartacus.

Since it was a documentary special, the costs were likely minimal and I'm sure CBS turned a tidy profit from ad sales...the three hours were peppered with ads for upcoming summer movies, and I'm sure movie-goers comprised the lions-share of that 7.7 million viewer number.

Hell's Kitchen was strong, but I think Moment of Truth is hurting it.

America's Got Talent did good last night, but I think the show is garbage.

The NBA Finals will rise in the finals, and probably put ABC is first place.

Jimmy Kimmel wasn't shown in the Mountain time zone, so I didn't even have to forget he was on!

Moment of Truth: Fox is going to have a hole again on Thursday. They should consider resting these gameshows the rest of the summer. Where's Nanny 911 and Trading Spouses? I bet they'd do as well.

AFI: Had it aired say tonight, it probably would've done much better.

NBA: Good results for a boring pro sport.

AGT: This is a wretched program so its only natural it would do well.

DOND: NBC needs to begin the resting of this now.

Instead, you got to see a bad team win.
