Ah yes. It is nearly summer season.

Zitrone will be happy to see the winners/losers list discontinued for summer. Wink

Thanks Marc and have a great Memorial Day!

I hope the winners/losers list will continue into the summer. There's alot of new summer programming (aka reality shows) coming on in the next few weeks and I don't see why they should be spared Marc's great analysis.

I'm willing to bet that at least a couple of these reality shows/game shows that will inundate the TV screens will do well. Don't know which though

I usually discontinue the winners and losers listings in the summer, but maybe I will make an exception this time around.

The Bachlorette will do decently but it has in the past, so that shouldn't be a shocker. HSM and Wipeout should do at least decently for ABC.

Yes Marc and everyone, enjoy this day off.

Why not argue about the Winner/Loser list in this forum since it's there to talk about? It's at least as interesting as debating over 10+ pages what is a 'hit' or not.

And now for some funny news:

Dollhouse Fans Poised to Save Show 8 Months Before it Airs

http://tvbythenumbers.com/2008/05/23/dollhouse-fans-poi...-before-it-airs/3893

quote:
Yep, some Josh Whedon faithful are staging a preemptive strike, fearing the worst and that the show will be cancelled like Firefly. An enterprising Canadian, Nathan, the administrator of dollhouseforums.com is launching the campaign. From a post on his site:

“After seeing some of my favorite television shows get cancelled in the past — as well as the “save this show” campaigns that followed — I had the idea that a fan campaign BEFORE the show begins may be the best thing to do. Maybe not such a negative campaign directed towards saving it from getting cancelled, but something that will get fans motivated to promote Dollhouse to friends/family/coworkers before it airs is smarter than doing it once it’s in danger! If we plan now, we may be able to have several ideas planned by the premiere to make people watch and make advertisers actually want the show on the air.”

The save Dollhouse before it airs campaign is pointless. If it disappoints, FOX will get rid of it no matter how many fans complained. Tons of stuff was sent in to save New Amsterdam and FOX didn't hesitate to cancel it. FOX has a huge development slate and fewer timeslots to air scripted shows. This situation is going to get worse as FOX's nonscripted development slate expands.

Do you think that with these ratings, that people will return to LOST this thursday?

Do you think CBS would have the ability to run from the beginning -- episodes of Reaper and/or Gossip Girl on their schedule? It could only help out the CW and they did do it for Veronica Mars a while back. I just really wish that more people got to see great television in the form of Reaper.

Last night's ratings was an indication of what the evening was and the programs that aired: repeat programming on a holiday weekend, on a night with low hut levels due to the holiday. I don't believe it will represent ratings for all new summer programming. Last year House aired it's season finale on May 29 (the day after Memorial Day) and still managed 17.23 million viewers, while the day before, on the holiday, FOX aired On the Lot to 2.8 million viewers. People will watch good programming and skip bad ones regardless of the season.

I hope they're successful, too (and Big Brother Smiler ).
