It's getting increasingly frustrating that the "mysteries of the week" have nothing direct to do with overall story of the show and yet they take up about 85% of the episode. And please kill Olivia and let her boss who is a lot more interesting become the lead.
If they did that, it couldn't be a multi-year series. Like the X-Files, it needs to do both in order to run for a few years...
Well, Prison Break was very limited premise and they have managed to milk 4 seasons out of that show. Even if they cut down on procedural stuff they can easily extract 7-8 seasons out of it
Watching Anna Torv is like watching a big piece of wood acting. Horrible. She shouldn't even be compared with Gillian Anderson
People said exactly the same thing about Gillian Anderson, in the early days of The X-Files. And by the end of the show's run, her performances were so far beyond awful, they beggared description.
But at any point in the show's history, Dana Scully was a doormat, following three paces behind Mulder, scowling when he was proven right again, never really developing her own agenda, and almost never coming up with the answers to whatever mystery they were investigating.
Right now, I'd take Dunham over Dana Scully and Sydney Bristow COMBINED.

Oh God. No. PLEASE no. Let it end after five seasons, MAX. I will absolutely not hang around for 7-8 seasons. Nor will I watch an all-conspiracy or all-MOTW show. They have the mix just right--their only problem is that they don't have enough good writers.

I don't think she's a bad actress but she has absolutely zero charisma in the role.
I understand it, as far as quality, Eli Stone is a superb show. But these numbers, especially this week, has shown that viewers have unfortunately not embraced it.
It's an intensely stupid show, with a deeply unappealing cast, and a premise that had 'turkey' written all over it from the start.
Again, people may embrace garbage, but pretentious garbage is another matter entirely.
If you want to be dumb in primetime, don't give yourself airs about it.

Are you kidding me? Did not you look at NCIS and The Mentalist's numbers? NCIS had 18.8M viewers! That was it's highest rated episode ever. The Mentalist with 16.5M is probably one of the highest rated new procedurals. All CSI's and Criminal Minds are doing great and still in the top 20. Saying that they are fading is a huge overstatement.
I am looking for Old Christine and Gary Unmarried to get a nice bump up tonight with DWTS out of the time slot. I say maybe back to the 7.5-8 million range. Anyone agree ?

Ok, ChrTh. Here's another route to the chat: click "Go" on the upper left corner of this web page. When a menu pops up under "Go", then hover your cursor over "Chat Room". A side menu option will open up, and it is then you click "TV Talk".

I disagree about Anna Torv. For a newcomer from Australia, I think she's done a good job with the material the Fringe writers have given her. With any show in it's 1st season, it will go through growing pains. I think she will only continue to get better as her character develops.
I've never seen Torv playing other character so i have no idea if she's a bad actress or this is how she's told to act on Fringe. But it's really depressing to watch her character. Just as i said, a piece of wood would sho more emotion
As for ES it's not that bad but to call it a superb show is way over the top. Berlanti really should try finding something more original, it's not like Kelley created thousand of shows, he's gonna run out of ideas to copy. I mean even Kelley has run out of ideas, all he can think of is lawyers, lawyers, lawyers.

Hey, at the rate the shows on my hit-list are falling, I may kick myself off in the near future.
Pros:You'd be able to sip kool-aid to your heart's content.
Cons:Nobody would care.
Reality: The only person you can get kicked off this forum is yourself.

You mean before or after she cranks out another giant-foreheaded baby, and gets all weepy about it?
Now if you want to talk about charisma-less actresses, let's talk about Jennifer "But they told me I'd be a star! How'd I end up playing second fiddle to Ellen Page in a low-budget indie?" Garner.
