You can try this for premiere week, but there's nothing since then...

As a fan of Numb3rs since it came on Fridays I have been waiting for a companion show to watch alongside it for awhile now... I heard a little about Moonlight this summer but then bad buzz began attaching itself to it so I put it out of my mind...

My TiVo had other ideas and today I watched the Pilot and Ep2...

I saw that someone had posted earlier in this forum that the show was "horrendously bad"...and a few said "Caveman" was worse...

Why make the distinction? Both shows are excrutiating to watch...

"Moonlight" was stunningly bad from a production values standpoint... it was like watching something on Univision... the script was horrible, the leads had the chemistry of sodium and water... I can't even believe that show was ever greenlit... Why on earth copy "Angel"? Why is this show even on? A vampire detective with a long black coat based in L.A.?? I'm stunned that it ever got produced... (and yes, Episode 2 was slightly better... but that is the faintest praise one could ever bestow...)

And "Cavemen"... well, there's no point in even going there is there??

"Numb3rs" is still excellent though....

Actually, both shows are patterned after Forever Knight. Which wasn't as good as Angel when it was at its very best (which it wasn't all that often), but Joss Whedon took with both hands from the earlier show. It never had anywhere near the budget Angel had. It wasn't even a primetime series. Whedon probably figured nobody would notice. Forever Knight wasn't as funny as Angel, but it was wayyyyy creepier.

However, it's creator is currently having a more successful career than Joss Whedon is, so there is some justice in this world.

Moonlight was a bad idea, from start to finish.

And frankly, the only reason Angel lasted as long as it did was that it inherited a fanbase from Buffy. Of course, by the end of its run, it was much better than Buffy, but Buffy was unwatchable for the last two seasons.

Showrunners are only as good as their last ep for me.

Only when they do a press release. Cable numbers are not often made available to the public. The best you can do is hope for fansites or news releases. Getting weekly data is difficult, unless you can find someone posting SciFi (which I have yet to find).

They post their ten highest-rated shows every Monday on ScifiWire.

But there's no archive, and there's a time-lag--here's today's list--

quote:

Eureka 1.2

Stargate Atlantis 1.2

ECW 1.1

Species: Awakening 1.1

Doctor Who 1.0

Alone in the Dark 0.9

Flash Gordon 0.7

10.5 part two 0.7

War of the Worlds 0.7
