Does the writer of a show recieve any money/royalties from syndication deals and DVD sales?
Thanks in advance.
I know they do for DVD sales. The specifics were reported during the Writer's Strike. I don't recall exactly, but you can probably find the information in articles published during the strike. Also, one of the writers for CSI is good at responding to emails, and is very obliging, unless he is unable to answer due to contractual obligations. You could possibly use him as a resource. Let me know if you want his address.

Shark Tank has been renewed for a second season! No idea when it will air, but likely next summer. Good move.
Awesome news! I'd put it back in its Tuesday 8pm slot in the summer. And if it succeeds there then maybe they can additionally use it in that same slot as between-DWTS filler in future seasons.

There should be no doubt about renewing it for 21st or even 22nd season.
They have buried it at 8pm (way too early) on a low viewing night.
NBC has taken 10pm shows and put them in time slots they don't belong in.
Interesting that L&O will be on at 9pm this week as well.
If NBC were to swap Dateline and L&O, the latter probably sees a ratings boost.

It should never have run this long. It's emblematic of the hidebound uncreative approach to scripted programming that has put NBC in last place among the real networks, and forced them to turn five hours of primetime over to Jay Leno.

Ghost Whisperer deserves its fate given this dismal season, which pains me to say since I really enjoyed it last year. At least Medium continues to come off with good high quality eps. The Night Of The Living Dead one was fantastic!

Yikes for Ghost Whisperer, especially since it was such a good episode last night (read: they hardly used Aiden.) I wonder if there's a way to get rid of that kid without being blamed of child hatred or lowering ratings... cancer, maybe? It's all a dream? Runs away? I don't know. Hopefully he'll grow on me.

How in the world is Dateline doing so well at 9pm? Even with a low demo, 8 million viewers for it is absolutely fantastic. Was it some kind of special episode on Friday, or is it just that the older viewers are now flocking to this? No matter the reason, it's putting a dent in Medium and especially Ugly Betty.
White Collar - 5.075 million viewers - 3.1/6 HH - 1.2/4 A18-49 *though I'm liking White Collar and it's doing fine, I am curious if it might have been a better fit out of Burn Notice on Thursday nights once Burn Notice returns in January without Royal Pains following it... thoughts?*
