ABC will face the same issues in this timeslot once The Unusuals starts airing. I agree with your sentiments here. ABC should just take a page from cable and air the exact same 9pm LOST episode at 10pm, but the enhanced edition. I bet it would do better than airing the episode the following week as the lead-in.

I'm going to be rooting hard for Patrick555 and fangs1972 in that 9:30pm timeslot. My former timeslot rivals are going to cut those 'tv' folks to shreds.

I am elated.
I am deflated.
'Lost' was so good last night, and I'm happy so many others watched along with me those 66 minutes of perfect television (yes, even the commercials are fun to watch with 'Lost').
'Life on Mars' is so special to me, and those 54 minutes were completely sympatico to 'Lost'. I'm at a complete loss as to why so many Losties tune out when 'Mars' comes on. Last nights episode was top notch.
Looking at Douglas's overnight metered market numbers, a clue may be seen in the divergence between big city markets, where 'Life on Mars' retention is acceptable to pretty decent (NY-62% , LA-62%, Dallas-92%) as compared to smaller city markets where retention seems problematic (Indianapolis-40%, Fort Myers-33%).
I haven't seen how 'Life on Mars' did last night in The CW's cherished A18-34 demographic where its been winning the past few weeks along with those elusive young men, the M18-34s. Winning this little demo slice probably won't be enough to please Mr. McPherson at ABC, but it would sure bring a wide smile to Miss Ostroff's.
Miss Gretchen Mol stars in ABC's 'Life on Mars', Wednesdays at 10 pm following 'Lost'
Goodness, Damages' ratings are anemic! It has to go up a little with DVR or other viewings, right? Can't believe FX is going to show a 3rd season of this show. I hear they have Close contracted for 6 seasons - not gonna happen.
No Surprise as FOX Leads A18-49 in Week 23, CBS, NBC and ABC Fighting For Second
After three nights of Week 23, FOX once again has a substantial lead over all the other nets in A18-49 with a 5.10 average. CBS is in second with a 2.84 average, NBC just behind with 2.70, and ABC is fourth with a 2.60 average. Univision is fifth with 1.53, The CW is sixth with a 0.47, and MyNetworkTV last with 0.34.
In viewers, FOX leads with an average of 14,247,000 viewers, while CBS is second, ABC third, NBC fourth, Univision fifth, The CW is in sixth and MyNetworkTV last.
CBS is the only network showing improvements in both demo and viewers over last season, and overall, the seven networks are down -6% in demo (down -14% in viewers) from the same week last season.
I think she is a pretty talented actress, she will do good.
WHAT!? She's better than that, what's she thinking? I'm predicting ratings lower than 2 million for that GG spinoff.
Work is work, after all. The show comes with a built-in audience and will, in all likelihood, do well--at least by CW standards. It's not like she would say no to a network show. Do you remember her on American Dreams? Does anyone?

That is a major casting score. CW seems to be doing the Gossip Girl spinoff right.
I have to agree I am not a fan of Gossip Girl, but I might watch it if Brittany Snow is the lead and it is set in 80's too that will be cool too. The CW is lucky to get her.

You know what? I think that's a brilliant idea. Move The Unusuals to 8pm on Wednesdays and shove Scubs and Better off Ted to Tuesdays at 8 to die against Idol since they're not going to return anyway.
it seems about 1 million (ish) adults 18-49 tune out of Lost when it airs against Idol, this is probably because they know they can get it elsewhere, or maybe just because (as someone pointed out to me when i commented before) they get 'over ruled' by the rest of the household and are forced to record it and watch it later. But all in all the ratings actually seem pretty solid for Lost nowadays compared to the wild fluctuations it has suffered from in previous years. I know some of you will say 'solid but low' and whilst this is the case compared to ratings for the show from 2 or 3 years ago, a 'bottom line' core audience of 10 million really is not that bad when you consider Losts constant shifts around the schedual's, the long hiatus's and the heavily serialised nature of the show
