Full disclosure -- I have some involvement with "The Bachelorette," so I'm not unbiased.
While it didn't break any records, how does a show that grows every half-hour, and ends up #1 in key demos get labeled a "loser" with "pretty bad numbers?"
If you don't like the show, fine -- it's not for everyone so go ahead and editorialize. But the numbers are what they are.
American Gladiators was all new and I think at least deserving of loser contention. Those numbers are not good.
While The Bachlorette barely did decent numbers, it did grow from its lead and and grew each half hour. So the people that started it, liked it enough to stay around. That is a good sign. This time, it is not deserving of the loser title.
Well it was pretty severe week to week drops for the Bachelorette but did anyone expect it to grow? I didn't see much in terms of promotion either from ABC this weekend. Most of what I've seen lately has been for the Mole. I expect it to bounce back some next week and be a stable summer player. I wouldn't have called it a loser either, but I would call American Gladiators a loser for the 50% drop in viewers its had since February. What a disaster that's become.

I don't know if the "loser" label is correct but those are bad numbers, just as bad as AG's

Week-to-week numbers: Viewers - 8.08M to 5.54M (-2.54M/31%) Adults 18-49 - 2.9/7 to 2.0/5 (-31%)
S03E02 vs. S04E02: Viewers - 8.33M to 5.54M (-2.79M/33%) Adults 18-49 - 3.7/8 to 2.0/5 (-46%)
Note: The second episode of season three aired on January 17, 2005.
A decline of more than 30% in just one week, and being off by nearly 50% in the demo from the comparable prior season number is most definitely an issue.

First off, Welcome to the PI Feedback Forum. The More, the Merrier!
I asume that the "Key Demo" is the Women, 18-34 Demo?
But still, those numbers are well below what a NEW episode should get for a 10pm show, with no competition.
Yes, The Bachelor & Bachelorette are not my type of shows, but the numbers speak loud and clear. Not any Better than a summer rerun.

Originally posted by TheCure42: Oddly enough, a repeat of American Gladiators, in the summer, during a holiday, did better than the new episode last week.
This week: 5.05m, 1.7/5 18-49 Last week: 4.00m, 1.6/4 18-49
This week's episode was not a repeat, it was a new episode (and 90 minutes).

Due the holiday, lower results were expected and that is the reason ABC delayed the premier of The Mole by one week. The numbers grew in each half-hour and won the hour in the demo at 10pm. I expect better demo numbers next week with the holiday not in the mix, even though the show moves to it's new time period 8-10.
In terms of demos, it's key demos are women 18-34 and women 18-49.
The ABC unscripted series ranked No. 1 in its slot among Women 18-34 (2.2/6) and Women 18-49 (3.0/8).
...during the 10 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49, ABC's "The Bachelorette" (2.2/6) topped CBS by 10% (2.0/5) and NBC by 29% (1.7/5).
