I believe the info from yesterday is still valid... sources say both sides like what they are hearing so far but even a 'quick' deal would most likely not happen for weeks. Several quotes I have seen have said both sides are very optimistic that something can be done by Christmas...

I'm still not convinced though although will continue to kepp my fingers crossed... But from dollars and cents point a view I see no reason why the AMPTP would resolve this unless the WGA seriously caves on some things. AMPTP can wait months before they panic...

My understanding is that positive negotiations are in process and that the hope is that the strike will end by Christmas.

What this means is either slightly shorter seasons or a much shorter hiatus for the actors(they usually end for the year within the first two weeks of April) which means turnaround for some eps could be very very short.

Oh and whatsonpop, I'd prefer you weren't a fan of shows like CHUCK. You make CHUCK fans look bad. Live and let live, friend. If you don't like it, don't watch it, but for God's sake, man, don't come to a forum and complain about people liking shows while ending your post with what shows you like.

Both sides are in a media blackout. Neither one will officially talk to the press. That was agreed upon. You're not going to hear anything official until the deal is done.

The networks have nothing to gain by prolonging this. The ad agencies will force the cash back issue and the renegotiation of upfronts issue. It's lose lose for the networks now. The media buyers who talked to Mediaweek said the ad agencies would start pressing for renegotiation if the strike isn't settled in three weeks.

strike has cash back clock ticking

The networks have nothing to gain in the long run by being obstinant now. The writers know they'll be shut out for good if they cave this time.

I'm not a fan of Chuck. You can rejoice. I have never complained about people liking any shows. Read any of my posts. And I don't end any of my posts with the shows that I like. I come on here to discuss ratings and the shows that I like, FRIEND...

I agree Galveston. I had always wondered how the advertising agencies viewed this strike and the way the AMPTP were behaving. It is nice to see the ad agencies taking a stand and making their voice known. I really never saw this strike lasting 9-10 months. The sooner an agreement is made, the sooner everyone can breathe a sign of relief and get back to work.

Peace!!

I watched SVU tonight. The story line wasn't unigue or anything but scene with Eliot's wife was gut wrenching. So, if you measure the show by that factor I guess it was compelling.

Way to completely ignore what was actually said. Brilliant. And you still make no sense- if you don't want to see people arguing about ratings, go to a place where they...don't.

ok so DWTS SPOILER AHEAD for anyone who though it was wise to tape a live show

I was so bummed when mel b did not win, I mean she is clearly the best dancer, helio is the 4th male dancer to win the show, I am sensing a pattern here, I mean I never even understood most of what helio said, what were people thinking?

I have never seen the show, but I am confused as to why you think that understanding what a contestant is saying has anything to do with a dance competition.

I agree that Mel and Maks should have one. I think a lot of the votes for Helio had to do with Julianne.
