Two and a Half Men prevailed at 9 p.m., with 15.30 million viewers (#1) and a 5.0/11 among adults 18-49 (#2).
ABC’s competing Samantha Who? moved up one half-hour with a still respectable 12.62 million viewers (#2) and a 4.1/ 9 among adults 18-49
I guess we now know which show is TRUELY the #1 sitcom.
Well, certainly in the numbers...but in terms of creativty and class and witty dialogue SAMANTHA WHO trumps the sophmoric sex-com known as TWO AND A HALF MEN.
That's just a personal opinion. The majority thinks otherwise clearly
Rules of Engagement (CBS) – Viewers: 11.62 million (#2), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#2) Percent Retention Out of Two and a Half Men – Viewers: 76 percent, A18-49: 76 percent
Pretty good rentension for a repeat airing, out of an original 2.5 men (which was a season high rating).

And I'm sticking with it. Plus when TWO goes into repeats and SAMANTHA still has its fresh episodes since it debuted so late-I think the real possibility exits that the tide will turn and its fan base will perhaps grow so that it will pass TWO even when it comes back someday with new episodes.
I agree with you 100%. Miss/Guided would have been a much better show to pair up with Sam who? I dont really care for Notes, although I do love the brilliant Rachel Harris, who is funny in just about everything she does. They should have spun her character off into her own show and scrap Notes.

Pretty good for SW.
I expected Heroes to go up - no surprise there.
The biggest question mark I had when ABC announced their fall schedule last May was why they considered bringing back OR and NFTU (especially the latter). OR had a better-than-expected debut, but it never really caught on. NFTU had measly ratings. I think SW should be paired with Miss/Guided - much better match.
still not sold on Samantha Who? If you lose half your lead after Grey's or CSI you'd be labeled a loser. Plus Im not sure the numbers would look much different if you switched SW and Notes From The Underbelly.
Do we really think SW would put up 12M viewers if it was on Tuesdays at 8:00PM with no lead in?
The strike is going to mess with schedules but I still think in a 'normal' year ABC would be wise to only air SW with Dancing With The Stars.

I would watch a Christina Applegate/Judy Greer combo over Charlie Sheen/David Spade any day...
Marc was justified to give Sam who? an honorable mention. It still did well, but should have done better considering the huge lead-in. The good news is that those are some of the best #'s that abc has had in that time slot from a reg.scheduled program(minus football and dancing) and the people that tuned in are probably the die hard fans who will be tuning in next week sans Dancing. So overall not bad.

I believe it has a loyal following unlike NOTES where there is a huge lack of interest...it would have to be if that many people tuned out of ABC at 9:30 and went to competition that was less than stellar- RULES ugh! Repeat of BONES and the GAME? Or joining HEROES already in progress.
CHUCK can thank it's rise in numbers due to the lack of PRISON BREAK.
ABC Holds 0.2 Lead Over CBS in A18-49 After 26 Days of the 2007 November Sweep
With only two days remaining in the very competitive November Sweep, ABC holds a narrow 0.2 lead over CBS in the young adult demo with a first place 3.6 A18-49 average. CBS is second with an average 3.4 in A18-49. NBC is 0.2 behind in third place with a 3.2 average in A18-49 and FOX is another 0.2 behind in fourth place with a 3.0 average in A18-49. The CW is in fifth with a 1.1 in A18-49 with MyNetworkTV bringing up the rear with its 0.4 in A18-49.
In households and viewership, CBS has a comfortable lead over ABC with NBC in third, FOX fourth, The CW trailing in fifth and MyNetworkTV bringing up the rear in sixth.
On a year-over-year basis, FOX and MyNetworkTV are the only networks consistently showing year-over-year improvement from the first day of the Sweep. The other four networks are mostly down in the 10-20% territory which is ascribed to the effects of DVRs and time-shifted viewing.
