Those final numbers for OR make me want to cry all over again.
Notes From the Underbelly lost another 800K or so viewers. Things for ABC will look bleak when DwtS is gone.
ESPN did well with the NFL mud wrestling. Do you happen to have a rating for the 45 minutes before the game started? How much did the weather delay hurt ESPN's first hour?
Also, I see 'Hills', but how did 'I Love New York' do on VH1 (9pm)?

So much for ABC and CBS tying in the demo. CBS is the clear winner in the finals.
Originally posted by TravisYanan: While BBT and RoE are in strike-related reruns, why not air BBT after 2.5 Men? Some more exposure?
CBS has to weigh how much that will help BBT vs. how much it will hurt RoE. For whatever reason, TV watchers have a lot of trouble adjusting to timeslot moves.
This has probably already been mentioned, but I skipped to the last page of the thread......because I'm new haha .
Now with DWTS over, what kind of numbers do you guys except for this upcoming monday?
I see something like this (total viewers wise):
ABC 8:00 - Charlie Brown Christmas (R): 11 - 12.5 million 9:00 - Samantha Who?: 10 million 9:30 - Notes From The Underbelly: 7 - 7.5 million 10:00 - October Road: 5 - 5.5 million
CBS 8:00 - How I Met Your Mother (R): 7.5 - 8.5 million 8:30 - The Big Bang Theory (R): 7.5 million 9:00 - Two and a Half Men (R): 12 million 9:30 - Rules of Engagement (R): 10.5 million 10:00 - CSI: Miami (R): I won't even bother with the numbers here, it's going to dominate.
FOX
8:00 - House (R): 8 - 9 million 9:00 - K-Ville: This is a tough one, but with the Heroes Season Finale on....it will not show any signs of improvement 5.5 million
NBC 8:00 - Chuck: I think this is the show that will benifet most, it's been a steady incline for the past two weeks. 9.5 - 10 million 9:00 - Heroes (Season Finale) - 12.5 - 13 million 10:00 - Life: With a new night and time, and having a good lead in....I still don't think it will improve much. NBC was premature in picking up the back 9. 7.5 million
I really want to know how you guys think ABC and NBC will do, as I know that CBS will post it's usual numbers.
Thoughts?
*Edit* - Can someone please post the half hour to half hour breakdown for the ratings?

I'm sure if there was peacock walking around, it wouldn't enjoy you calling it "NBC".

I don't have the 45 Minutes before it started but here is an oddity from the an article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette today.
quote:
The game pulled a 9.9 rating, the third-most viewed on ESPN on Monday night this year. But it did not reach its peak until the 15 minutes between 11:15 and 11:30, when it grew to an 11.2 rating. Traditionally, ESPN reaches its peak viewership on Monday nights between 9:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. They had not experienced a spike that late all year.
I guess the combination of it being a close game and just the curiosity of the thing.

Interesting. I guess the curiousity factor had people channel flipping to check out the game's progress, they when primetime TV ended, people switched over and watched the end of a close game. I know that the games aren't usually down to the wire, but I am surprised that ESPN doesn't see a ratings uptick at 11pm more frequently.
Originally posted by trying2b: I don't even know why I read this stupid forum. All I hear is a bunch of bitching about stupid TV shows and most of them suck anyway. It's always the same old people too. Don't any of you actually do anything else but watch TV and post about ratings? For intance sitcoms are really shallow to me. Samantha Who? that was so name approprietly! I mean I think Christina Applegate is nice looking but I'm not going to sit through a sitcom just because she's in it. And here's one "Rules of Ingagement" WTF?!!! It should be called "Rules of Bad TV". And Two and Half Men, I mean who watches that? Lets see that one is a big one at the watercooler......not! I'm too busy watching Heroes when that comes on. And some of you have you even watched Journeyman or Chuck or Bionic Woman? There was one episode of BW that was not good, only one, and it was still watchable. I'm sure I'll get griped out and put down for doing this but really people think about it.
This year alone I have several shows on NBC that I watch. Heroes, Chuck (which is so funny and unique), Journeyman which only gets better with each episode. Bionic Woman, and Las Vegas (which is semi-shallow). I'm 45 years old so I am sick and tired of cop and hospital dramas that have been done so many times. The cops always get their man and the drs always heal their patients! Give me a break. And one more thing, do any of you know anyone that acutally has one of those ratings boxes? I have never met ANYONE that has one or has known anyone that has had one? I personally think that the ratings boxes are out of time and the networks/advertisers should find another way to find out who is watching what if anything.
Thank You,
My 2 Cents!
Part of your post I disagree with and the other part I totally agree with
Yes- many of us have lives and do more than watch TV and post on this board. Your comment was a little mean and you shouldn't go on a board and insult the people who are on it.
OK- I also love Chuck and don't understand how people think that Samantha, 2 men and Rules are good shows.
Next- I was a Neilson family about 9 years ago. I've posted about it before. After that experience I think that ratings are total crap. I could have 2 tv's on while recording the same show and it will count as more than 1 person. It's not an exact science.
Funny thing is when I was pregnant and sick as a dog, the Neilson Co. called me because I was leaving my TV on 24 hours a day. They were like "please turn off your tv". I was living alone and thought "if I died the only people who would find my body is the Neilson co". LOL.
Also- I'm sick of cop/hospital dramas too. I don't watch any of them. But, I am enjoying some of the new & old shows this year (Chuck, 30 Rock, Office, Men in Trees, DSM & Big Shots).
