Back by popular demand: Game #82 of the P.I. Feedback Challenge! This game (which features an incredibly well done graphic job by PIFC creator Douglas), you pick 5 shows, one from each network, that you think will do the best over a 4 week period. Play more games and make a run for the PIFC Cup, a "season" long race for who does best in the PIFC. New Games debut each Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Deadline is each Tuesday @ 7:59am eastern.
Don't forget, we need 30 to join by Tuesday morning to get nightly market by market ratings! Come on forum, in the words of that random guy shouting from the stands in The Waterboy, "You can do it!"

If I recall correctly, it had like 8 weeks between new eps from November to January and then it only aired like 4 weeks because creatively it was awful and Idol was having a hay day. Not to mention, Jim and Rodney were sucking more than usual as lead ins (this was the season Jim really started his drop). ABC had really no other options. Oh wait. They did. They gave Mondays at 10 to What About Brian, which was so flawed it was an entirely different show come season two.

If a network really believes in a show, they wouldn't treat it as badly as it did Chief and also men in trees. Look at NBC, they believe in the office and it's ratings have improved and in 30 rock and it's got emmy gold.

I think the history since 2005 is great! Thanks for all your hard work Justin.
What the heck happened to Commander in Chief? That was a ratings blockbuster for ABC!
It was doing so well before its hiatus, and was giving ABC the best Tuesday it had in years, so why would they destroy it?
If I remember correctly, the reason there was such a long gap betwen new programs airing was because there were no new shows ready to air. The production delays casued ABC to remove the Rod Laurie form the show and bring in Steve Bocho.

Admit it, you just watched for the female lead's outfit, though...and probably liked the Hawk guy better than the 'hero'. I got a kick out of the original series with the fishing line clearly visible to support each ship and the cigarette smoke dribbling out the back. Ah, quality TV.
I don't see this as a sweeps stunt to increase ratings. I think it is more about not wasting a firstrun episode on a night of TV that will be dominated by the political stuff. It is a sign that ABC learned from its last mistake.

HAWK was the "Jump The Shark" moment for BR25. I turned off at that moment. Between that and the little robot, twikki, getting a different voice, I was off to better TV.

Isn't the election the day before on Nov. 4th?? So the "Election Coverage" will just be a recap of what we will already know, no breaking news.
This is just ABC's way of making sure their low rated Wednesday doesn't hurt them anymore then it has to, during the sweeps.

DWTS Results moves to Wednesday that evening due to the election coverage on the Tuesday. Basically, the programming that is occuring this week. However, the entire Wednesday lineup gets pre-empted two weeks later for the Country Music Awards and the week following will be Thanksgiving Eve. So even if the Wednesday lineup can pull itself together, it might lose all momentum come mid-November.

True, there won't be 'breaking news', just tons of rehashing of the arguments and what the results of the election will mean.

As I said above, ABC is learning from its mistake. They wasted DwtS as a leadin before, but not this time.

Yes, they will...and the 10pm Wednesday timeslot as well.
If they plan to try and save Pushing Daisies rather than just dump it, the first thing they need to do is 're-tool' the opening minutes of each episdoe to ditch the recapping monologue.
Side note: Does the Pie Maker live in The Old Post Office?

Yeah, if they ditch the narration, and the premise, and the cast, and the whole sticky-sweet look and feel of the show, it might do a little better.

Yikes for PD. Time to pull it ABC. Sadly, DSM isn't doing any better based on overnights. That show however, is creatively on a roll and is accessible to the more general viewing public. ABC really should have found a better timeslot for it. Kudos to PP for growing out of its lead in. Gary and Christine look pretty stable. Perhaps we'll hit 7 million this week!
