Fantastic performance for the first half of the evening on CBS. BBT's Christmas ep was a delight. Despite DubDub's continued very large drop out of Men, Miami should've been able to pull a 4.0 given its competition was even more wretched than usual.
Kudos to Chuck for a season high in P2+. It'd be pretty likely to get a Season 3 if the season ended today. But it's gonna get tougher, and the show hasn't picked up much demographic steam from the end of DWTS... they've seemingly chosen CBS instead.

DWtS BBT/HIMYM Chuck
My Hope is that DWtS takes the hit so Chuck and the comedies can continue to grow.
Though it was the results show, DWTS has faced House before without great negative effect. My guess is that the CBS comedies will strenghten between now and when Chuck returns in February. Thus, the likely candidate to get hurt the most will be Chuck.

I agree. The CBS comedies and House are younger skewing. DWTS of course will be #1 in ratings/viewers but #3 in the demos.

I agree that I appreciate that NBC ran the full run, however, I was disappointed they couldn't make the decision before the final episode's filming concluded. I still hold out hope that a cable network will snag up this series. I think it really would do better on a cable network. FX or TNT and I think this show does great. Now I add another series to my "crappy ending" list. I am still upset over Judging Amy's ending, years later. <sigh> It didn't work on NBC but I really think it would do better elsewhere...
Compared to what? That's pretty obvious. Compared to how Chuck was doing for the rest of the season
Ah--so Chuck is doing great compared to Chuck.

So Chuck is the highest-rated show on NBC? Wow, I knew they were doing badly of late, but still.....

and compared to the ratings of TV shows in general.
And where exactly do you think it'll be ranked in terms of ratings for this week?

It's slowly grown in that time period after its huge drop off from the season opener.
It's grown slightly while T:SCC shrunk a lot. Chuck better hope FOX doesn't come up with a stronger replacement.
It hasn't succeeded--T:SCC has collapsed. The growth is minor, and temporary. Watch and learn.
I'm not sure why you want to specifically compare Chuck with Terminator only. Anyway your statement about Terminator is not right anyway. Besides the season opener and one really bad week, Terminator has averaged between the mid to low 5 millions all season. Chuck dropped to the high 5 millions after its season opener and has risen to the mid 7 millions.
No one is claiming Chuck is a hit or NBC's best show. But everyone knows NBC's shows have struggled this year. Chucks ratings for this week are pretty good compared to other NBC's other shows. It won't make it a huge hit, but the ratings would be good enough to get it a third season on NBC, and that's all that matters.
I don't know if you're upset because your prediction that Chuck would not get ratings better than its season opener was wrong, or this is some Flyer Fly thing. (Is that the name of that show Adam Baldwin was in; or is it Firefly or something like that?) Chuck clearly did solidly this week, especially for a NBC show.
Anyway this is all probably doesn't matter in the long run because I agree with everyone else here that Chuck will get hurt in the ratings when House starts (and apparently DWTS is coming back as well). Chuck is not an elite show that can compete with the big boys. The CBS comedies numbers are high enough that, even if they lose some viewers, they should still get solid ratings though. So How I met Your Mother will survive, which I also like.
Last night's NFL game (Cleveland vs. Philadelphia was likely not well rated on ESPN, which might explain the boost for CBS.
Also, ABC aired the game in Philly and FOX aired the game in Cleveland, so expect both those networks to have a viewer/demo drops when finals come out.

I would say the opposite is likely to happen. House and DWTS have survived opposite each other on Tuesdays before. BBT/HIMYM's bumps have been directly related to Dancing being off the air. I don't see House hurting things all that much but 10 million will probably be unreachable this spring once Dancing is back too.
Why is it not a surprise you think this way? House and the comedies didn't hurt each other last time all that much on Mondays. I don't expect that this time either. What is going to do get killed though is Chuck, which in my opinion should be moved to Thursdays in place of dying Earl and the atrocious Kath and Kim. Heroes should get moved as well.

Even though I think House will be strong, it will not be as strong as it has been on Tuesday. You would be amazed how loyal a fan base the CBS sitcoms have built. They are about as big a buzz in the TV forums as they have been in the ratings.

Very positive news. Granted, ABC aired nothing against it, Fox Mondays suck, and NBC has lost tons of steam, but it's still nice to see! Hopefully we can keep the CBS comedies doing well and the network will consider expanding into another hour of comedies.

NBC is just killing Chuck, its one show worth watching on Mondays. It really sunk when Heroes did (although by not as much of a percentage). I really think it would be an excellent Thursday 8pm option. Bones isn't all that strong. Ugly Betty is very female and Survivor is no Dancing with the Stars.

Well said Penn, I couldn't agree more i think Pisher is just bitter over Firefly
