I am so proud that "Amazing Race" held its audience against "Terminator." After the debacle of a CBS reality slate announced today, the network needs TAR #13 as soon as possible.
Hmm. What CBS reality slate debacle? What did they do?
If we're going to continue the BW comparison (here's mine--both shows SUCK), let's look at all the facts--BW started off with 13.59 viewers and a 5.5 in the demo--its lead-in was Deal or No Deal (8.89mil viewers, 2.6 in the demo), and its primary timeslot competition was the premiere of Private Practice (14.24mil viewers, 5.1 in the demo)
Yeah, BW actually beat the premiere of PP for 18-49 viewers, even though PP's lead-in was a Dancing With the Stars results show (16.62mil viewers, 4.0 in the demo).
So no, I'm not all that wildly impressed by SCC hanging onto less than half its absurdly massive lead-in, when the only real competition FOX had that night was Commanche Moon--at 9pm. AFTER SCC was over, though its heavy violence quotient surely made it a natural for the later hour, and a two hour premiere would have normally made sense in this context.
SCC was a lucky show. The fact that it was a close match helped a lot. You cannot get a better lead-in than that. Of course it was the most watched pilot. You don't get a 40 million lead-in too often
But we really need to see the half hour breakdown. Marc help us!
Last, and very least, was the CW’s repeat line-up of CW Now (Viewers: 652,000; A18-49: 0.2/ 1), Aliens in America (Viewers: 656,000; A18-49: 0.2/ 1),
Looks like the CW Now has competition for the the worst performing show on the net.
Those will be the worst performing shows on English-language broadcast television, even falling behind MyNetworkTV's lowest-performing show. I missed seeing Life is Wild last night, and I do hope that The CW re-schedules the episode so that the full series can be seen.
What an amateurish disaster the Golden Globes presentation last night turned out to be. I feel badly for AMC's Mad Men, which missed out on a well-deserved standing ovation from its peers in the industry.
FOX's Terminator opened strong, but I did not care for it's excessive violence. It did however give Family Guy and American Dad some of their best numbers of the season.
I found Comanche Moon to be boring television, and I'm not surprised viewers deserted it as the night wore on. I switched over to Brothers and Sisters at 10 pm.
Nice to see that Brothers and Sisters can pull in a decent demo without a Desperate lead-in.

No guts no glory, FOX.
there's no doubt BW's premiere did much better than SCC's premiere. But if that half hour breakdown is correct we may have a surprise tonight. Which means bad news for PB
Originally posted by a-mad: Great numbers for SCC. Even if we see a significant decline, it could settle in to some decent numbers for Fox on Mondays.
Comanche Moon posted nice numbers for CBS as well. Good for them... I don't really have a lot of interest in it - but it was nice to see an actual miniseries on television again (and to have decent ratings, to boot).
Those aren't bad numbers for ABC, given the competition. EM:HM did quite well at 9pm, and without its typical new episode of DH to precede it, I actually thought B&S did nicely, esp. in the demo.
Now NBC... completely different story. Their up and down week certainly ended with a thud. Zucker's negotiating of the Globes, and the resulting disaster that was last night has been completely hammered by the press this morning. It isn't pretty. Let's see how many hours of DonD and AG they add over the next several weeks to save face...
As bad as that was, it could be even worse for ABc's Oscar's if the strike isn't settled. They have $80 million riding on that event, and a ceremony like last night would absolutely ruin them: Advantage: 110% to the writer's guild. They have all the leverage...
Agreed. ABC is in a world of hurt if the strike cancels the Oscars. At least NBC did them a huge favor, however: The perfect blueprint for what NOT to do in that situation.
No matter what you all think, SCC's premiere was the biggest this season. FACT. Yeh, it'll probably drop a million or 2 tonight, but there's no way its going to pull a BW. This show is atleast decent (AWESOME in my opinion), we all know how bad BW was. I think SCC will settle in the 16 million range.
FOX has finally found another winner!

I guess CBS won't have the same problem with the Grammy's. Just fill in the holes with more performances.
Reading this board, I am not surprised that people are saying SCC is terrible. I've said that for oh, about three months now. IMDB is slamming it pretty hard in the reviews, worse than Bionic Woman.
SCC got the best lead in possible. Tonight will tell the story. Cashmere Mafia last week lost over 40% of its audience from first to second show. I expect at least a similar drop for SCC. Prison Break will pull in 7 to 8 million viewers. If SCC can go away with 7, they should be happy.
EMHE is still going strong. No one talks about it, but ABC must be loving those numbers. Over 10 million for a repeat? They struck gold and are never going to let that show go.
Comanche Moon did very well, even with the roughly 2.5 mil drop in the timeslots.
Maybe no one watched the Golden Globes due to the fact that Billy Bush made some of the most annoying comments possible. When did he become a commentator? Just smile and give out the names. Leave the side comments to those who are qualified to give them.
Note to CW: program better or give up on Sundays. End note. Slight credit for OTH repeating to over a million.
