So with the increased viewership, it is not bringing down CSI Miami. It's doing it all on their own. I've said before that it is the weakest of the three CSI's and apparently the viewers agree.
As for WW, if CBS wants to be patient with it, these numbers warrent that. It could continue its growth in the timeslot. They definately should not cancel it completely. Right now, Ex-List is a sure cancellation and Eleventh Hour is well down the road. Keep the show and use it as a filler since they have almost no mid-season options. I'd give it one more week to see how it grows and then put ROE in there if there isn't substantial improvement. I'd then slide double shots of WW Fridays at 9 PM. There isn't any comedies at that time and could find its footing on a lower competition night.
Chuck is dead. They should have not renewed it. Way too early.
Boston Legal is a waste in its timeslot. Almost anything could do those numbers in its timeslot.
Baseball was the highest viewed and demo show on FOX Mondays this season. This shows how weak FOX Mondays are. FOX has to be happy with these numbers.
MOWE did as well as expected. Heroes is dying and no longer is a good lead in. The fact that it held a good percentage of those numbers is a positive.
CBS Comedies don't have a great reputation for doing well on Friday nights. I believe Everybody Loves Raymond started there and it was in the bottom 10 shows.
And who can forget Meego...

Wow, is Big Bang Theory doing excellent this season! It's at a high in both viewership, demo, and quality, and viewers are obviously noticing it. It beat Mother for the second week in a row in total viewers, in the lower rated 8pm half-hour. I'm sure CBS is thrilled with this show.
And Worst Week - it's actually increased. I'm surprised at that. But, in quality, it's at an all-time low. I watched yesterday (didn't watch the week before), and I didn't find one funny moment in the entire episode. I almost think that if CBS gets it to 13 episodes, they should end it there for the season, and bring in ROE for midseason. A show like Worst Week would probably benefit from 13 episode seasons instead of 22, just because it can get old fast. If it can keep up the 9-10 million, it's not dead yet.
Samantha Who? was disappointing. This show is so overrated it's not even funny. It would be getting more like 7-8 million if DWST wasn't its leadin. And why even label Boston Legal a loser anymore? Fantastic episode last night, and its been about even in ratings the entire season. The show is not compatible at all with DWST or SW?, so its getting those ratings without any help.
My Own Worst Enemy - bomb. I can already tell it is. I feel sorry for NBC - they can't find one hit show for their schedule. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see them change their minds and keep ER for another season - it's one of the highest rated shows they have at this point.
Top 10 Broadcast and Top 10 Subscription TV Programs Based on Primetime Adult 18-49 Ratings Week ending October 12th, 2008 Week 3 of the 2008-2009 Broadcast Season
For those who aren't in the habit of looking at Nielsen cable ratings, "NFL regular season" is ESPN's Monday Night Football.
(I take it these are two separate charts for broadcast and cable -- that is, not to say that the 11th highest rated program among A18-49 among all broadcast and cable is CNN's debate coverage.)
I'm so dumb b/c I had no idea that Cloris Leechman was Phyllis from MTM. She looked good for her age on the show, but man she got old. She was on The Facts of Life too when the show was way dead.
That damn retention from Worst Week and Samantha Who? was horrible. Both shows numbers would look strong without lead-ins, but damn imagine both shows performing on their own. You talk about a nightmare for CBS and ABC.
They need to yank Worst Week by Friday. That was a strong performance by Men and it failed miserably and its hurting CSI: Miami numbers a little bit. I think Miami needs to anchor Sunday nights next season for CBS.
The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother is starting to turn out to be the real deal on CBS.
Considering being NBC's heaviest promoted show this fall that was a huge disappointment and I bet NBC lost all types of money last night. In order for MOWE to stay around it will have to have numbers similar to Knight Rider which is NBC's new ratings star this season.
NBC should start being happy with Heroes performance. This is a show that's performing over 9 million viewers a week, if it wasn't for its wannabe hit status they would expect more.
FOX should be embarrassed wanting the Dodgers over the Cubs for the NLCS.
Gossip Girl is a huge loser every week. A show like this should be averaging over 5 million viewers per week. If I'm not mistaken The Hills performs way better than this show.
BBT has been an amazing success story this season. It has become the true 8:00 anchor, and I am sure CBS is delighted with it. The finals are in, and it hung on and beat HIMYM in total viewers for the second consecutive week. This is the strongest show CBS has had in the lead off slot since King of Queens, and just remember King Of Queens was in that time slot before DWTS came into that slot. It is putting up better numbers at 8:00 than it did at 8:30.
If it keeps it up it will be the heir apparent to the Two and Half Men throne when Men finally retires.

You're right Twins12, basically what's happen here is that BBT is just starting to get established in its second season. Sometimes shows needs 2-3 years to finally get off the ground especially comedies. Even Kevin S. Bright one of the executives from FRIENDS said his show was safe the first two years by being surrounded by mega hits like Seinfeld and others on Must See TV. FRIENDS really got its own identity as an international hit after the Super Bowl inside of season 2 through season 3 when they had some important episodes that would shape the show's future.
Yeah, I can tell by the online chatter that BBT has found its audience. No one talked much about it last season, but now they talk about it constantly.
Also, I agree with you on Worst Week. Unfortunately, I think last night's bump up without DWTS in the time slot guaranteed it being here for a little while. As of yesterday CBS had scheduled repeats for the first three sitcoms (all shows from last season) for October 27, and WW did not have a show scheduled. Today they put out a press release saying they will be repeating the pilot on the 27th. Something tells me if WW had gone down this week it would have been canceled, and ROE or GU would have gotten that time slot, but with it going up they will now stick with it. I think for at least 13 episodes.

BBT is becoming more popular on other websites.
HIMYM also got established a year after its King of Queens lead-in duty when it use to bleed about 70-80% of KOQ lead-in during the first season. It just takes some of these shows time. Old Christine is another I'm watching out for. It never really had staying power on a schedule and I think it might be developing its own audience on Wednesdays at 8pm. Gary will do so too.
Unfortunately the bad news for WW this is a show that will never go up like other comedies have. WW's performance is even badder b/c it didn't have to compete with DWtS this week and Men had almost 15 million viewers. It should've at least had over 11-12 million viewers. WW might also be going down a little bit in finals b/c it came on at 9:31pm meaning Men got some of that half-hour.
If CBS was smart they would get NBC Universal off their back and cancel it and get Rules on behind it as soon as possible. I've got this feeling that NBC Universal gives CBS alot of ad money for WW to fill that slot and its keeping CBS from canceling it right away.
THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in adults 18-34 (2.8/08) and second in households (5.8/09), viewers (9.34m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 18-34 (3.3/09) and second in households (5.6/08), viewers (9.25m), adults 25-54 (4.5/10) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10).
