Look at Supernatural!. It held it's own with a much lower rated lead in than usual. More proof that this show has legs and is not entirely dependent on Smallville. A season 4 should be a lock. A classic episode too.
I was thinking the same thing. How do all the Reaper fans who want this timeslot explain this? Smallville has it's worst ratings of the season and Supernatural ratings went up from it's last original airing.
What has this got to do with Reaper? The CW's concern about last night should be that Smallville dropped so much.
The fact that Supernatural held so well with a declining lead-in is proof enough that it should probably be put as an 8pm show to lead off another night (Tuesday or Sunday). Will it be a perfect schedule change? Nope, but Supernatural may just be the best choice that CW has for a 'lead-in' strength show.
I thought I heard somewhere that Supernatural couldn't air in the lead-in spot because of it's gore and creepy contexts.
In PP the only drama that can happen is for Addison to go blonde.
Hehehehe.
Completely agree, though. I keep watching, waiting for the show to prove why it exists... but it never does. Taking Addison out of surgery and out of a hospital means they really have to stretch to find life-and-death stakes. The show would be better if it tried to do more soap and less medical, because the medical side is just not that interesting. Or course, by "more soap" I don't mean what the show has actually done, which is pair off all of the main characters. Zzzzzz. And no matter how unbelievable Gizzie is on GA, those characters are still interesting. It's an unbelievable plot. None of the characters on PP - Addison included, and she was one of the best characters on GA - are believable.
Yup i tottaly agree, i'm sorry to say it but the medical part has nowhere to go. I wouldn't mind if they would try to make the show mainly a soap, but the problem is that the characters are totally uninteresting. Not that on GA all the characters are interesting but at least there you have the life and death situations. I just think the idea of this show was wrong.
It's like making a CSI spinoff and sending Grissom to be a pet detective
Private Practice is one of the worst spin-offs i can remember. Yes, worse even than Joey. And i've seen the first 6 rpisodes so i did not make a rushed judgment. And trust me the ratings will get worse beacause the idea of the show is very weak. I mean in GA you have the action set in a hospital where real dramas happen, life or death decisions. In PP the only drama that can happen is for Addison to go blonde.
I think it is pretty good actually, I am beginning to like a lot of new characters, at the beginning of the show, I wanted it to fail because I wanted addison back on GA, but now I dont since I will really miss Cooper and Violet, and the storylines have gotten much better, my only critism is that addison and pete have absolutely no chemistry
I agree. This show is even less about the hospital and more about the character aspects which is just fine for me because the characters here already have more substance to them than Greys with its Gizzie disaster this fall.

This show isn't so much about the medical part as it is the character interaction and development. That's what keeps it going. I find it interesting that you think Greys moves along because of the life or death situations. If I wanted a show like that I would watch ER. Greys is all about the drama too.

Why on Earth is everyone against that relationship? I truly don't get it. And what characters on PP have substance, it's exactly the reverse. Addison has no substance at all on PP

Well i mostly watch GA beacause of the medical part. That's why i thought the second half of last season was horrible. It turned totally into a soap. But i must say this season GA is very good and the last two episodes were truly excellent (and there were plenty of life and death situations in there)

Addison, who was a top 5 character on Greys has 3 times the life of George or Izzie. In fact, I think all the Private Practice characters are fun and easy to follow. Speaking of Gizzie, why don't the two worst characters on the show stay together. They could die in a big fire or something. That would keep it nice and medical for you. Oh Meredith save them! Oh wait! She can't because she's a terrible doctor! Almost Romeo and Juliet esque. The reason I hate them is because they're a terrible fit together, especially after they were all BFFs last year. In the process, they've taken what was once a funny Callie and made her a zombie and Izzie's trek towards Alex was also interrupted significantly. Just get em together already. In fact, they're so annoying they've overshadowed the dull Meredith and McDreamy plot, and that's a hard thing to do I might add.
Well the truth is i don't care who sleeps with who on GA cause as i said i'm not that interested in the soapy part. Anyway for me Izzie alongside Addison has always been the most interesting character.
I think Smallvilles numbers are lower then usual is because people thought it was a repeat ep
But i am stoked about seeing the great numbers for supernatural. This is clearly the best show the CW has and it is a solid contenter in the ratings also. This show will last as long the CW lives. Maybe longer;-)
sleeper Don’t Forget the Lyrics, which fits well out of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
Fits well especially in terms of low quality and sub-3-demo, and it managed to lose viewers too. How these two hours of unimaginative game shows get an 'Honorable' is hard to understand; except that Fox ratings last year was even worse perhaps. With these standards, the replacements of K-ville and NGAB should be triumphs.
Also, 30Rock beats it in demo and gets a 'Loser' tag. No comment.
Fox: 8.25 million viewers, NBC: 5.75 million viewers, ABC: 5.63 million viewers,
Considering where each of these 3 nets were just 12 months ago, and FOX's turn around is truely amazing.
Especially since most of the people here trashed 5th grader and said it would never take hold.
Yeah, kudos to Fox for managing to beat nearly-all-repeats on other networks (and got beat by NBC in the demo, with NBC airing 30 minutes of original program out of 3 hours).
Truly a testament to the genius of a channel that gave us 5th grader, Spelling Bee, B2U, Nashville, NGAB, K-ville and so many other quality shows.

CSI performs like the hit that it is. Conistent ratings and just all around near infallibilty. Where's the Sara leaving ratings crater? Non-existent because CSI is still CSI.
yes, I am pretty sure the fact that Greys Anatomy and The Office are both in repeats has nothing to do with the high ratings for csi
Actually, they may be a little lower than the season average, so you are right, the repeats ahd NOTHING to do with CSI's ratings.
Actually, all the contestants were not very likeable this season. Just when you wanted to root for someone, POFF, they would have/show an ugly side.
There was no Rupert or Earl or Yau Man this season.
Of the 4, I would want to see Amanda or Denise win it.

Todd is not very smart. The jury is watching him sit there with that smug look on his face. It is not endearing. Meanwhile, Amanda is putting in an Emmy worthy performance with her 'I am so sad for you' face each time a player is eliminated.

And I thought that was awful of Denise to root for Amanda like that. She has no class.
I don't understand your comment. If Peih-Gee wins the immunity, Denise gets voted off. It makes perfect sense for Denise to avoid giving Peih-Gee food and for her to root for Amanda to win immunity.
