The head honchos at ABC do stupid things like this every year at this time. They fail to get a program ready to take on Idol on Tuesdays (and last year they failed to get it ready on Wednesdays). If the upcoming Duel draws any interest, expect it to air 2 or 3 times a week.

Would be funny if ABC put PP after GA when the strike's over, correcting a scheduling mistake... although I think PP is a FAR worse show than Big Shots! I mean, it's really testing the depths of insipid.
Really? I find Private Practice to have improved immensely since the pilots. In fact, I think its better than what Greys has been doing this year. Gizzie almost lost me as viewer.

I almost wonder if they will wait til next week to release the schedule based on Duel.

Agreed... the first two or three episodes of PP I was not convinced on whether I was going to stick with the show or not. Around Episode 4 I became convinced. I don't know if it's better than Grey's now, but it certainly was compared to the end of Season 3 or the season premiere.
I don't think they will, but ABC has diluted it thanks to dumb programming moves and so if say the strike ends today, I would use Lost as the 9pm Wed. show and put Daisies and Practice around it. Then tryout DSM on Thursday as a sort of last chance move.

I think Private Practice is better than Grey's Anatomy this season and last. Grey's Anatomy has sunk to all time lows in the story department.
ABC is going to be a mess all around against American Idol without Dancing with the Stars or new programming. Grey's repeats won't win against CSI repeats.

ABC hasn't made PP (and PD/DSM) any favor with their erratic schedule in the last month, but PP hasn't suffered that much:

After the horrific decision to air a new episode on 11/21 then a 2-weeks break, PP was still back at 10m+ and 3.8 demo. Without the strike it would have stayed strong.

I think they should put Lost on Thursdays at 9 and bump Grey's repeats to 8.
Wednesday can be a reality night of Swap/Nanny and something else at 10.
Smallville surprises me, but the ratings will go back up. They always seem too.
Look at Supernatural!. It held it's own with a much lower rated lead in than usual. More proof that this show has legs and is not entirely dependent on Smallville. A season 4 should be a lock. A classic episode too.

I was thinking the same thing. How do all the Reaper fans who want this timeslot explain this? Smallville has it's worst ratings of the season and Supernatural ratings went up from it's last original airing.
CSI performs like the hit that it is. Conistent ratings and just all around near infallibilty. Where's the Sara leaving ratings crater? Non-existent because CSI is still CSI.
yes, I am pretty sure the fact that Greys Anatomy and The Office are both in repeats has nothing to do with the high ratings for csi

I am happy that GA is nominated for best drama, I mean I get that it isnt as good as season 1-2 yet, but I am still amazed by how well the show has rebounded creatively since the dismal season 3, most shows that jump the shark never rebound, but Greys Anatomy rebounded big time this year
The season 4 two parter were some of the best episodes produced on the show
PP on the other hand is good, but is not as good as GA, it isnt even in the same league as GA
