The CBS lineup was not seen in the Atlanta area yesterday. They had the ESPN feed of Monday Night Football, instead. The CBS shows will be offered on Sat. afternoon, I think. Are these circumstances factored in to the ratings, in some manner?

Chuck probably got some sampling from fans of the preempted "Prison Break" and weaker than usual Monday Night Football. Will any of them stick around next week?
It's hardly a goner yet by any stretch but a revamp into a half-hour series may be something to consider.

Guys, try not to forget. We are here to discuss the numbers and add our OPINIONS to the shows.
I always get a bit upset when I see posts that make it seem like someones opinion is better, or more valid than anyone else. Everyone on here has an opinion, and each one is worth the same.
Hate the show, bitch about the show, crunch the numbers...but remember..in the end, we are all doing the same, and we are all equal.
Good post. I completely agree. After all, it's just TV.

I think you're being a wee big negative. I don't see HEROES going anywhere anytime soon. Right now the mark of solid seems to be 10mil so I hardly think the cancellation countdown has begun.
Nobody said it had, but it's hard to see Heroes lasting five seasons if it continues to drop. And there is no such thing as 'the mark of solid'. Where did you even get that phrase? When ratings drop, they don't drop all at once. Some people hang on longer than others, when a show starts to disappoint them. Sometimes years. But as time passes, more and more people bail. Heroes is very expensive to make, and it can't afford to lose a few million more people. And it probably will lose a few million more people.
It's only a 'marquee show' if it remains popular. There's no cancellation countdown now, but the show has been demoted by the viewers, and will be demoted further.
Glad to see that Samantha who? did well. Jean Smart is a hoot. I hope that it can maintain its ratings next week, but I wont hold my breath. abc really needs to make this the last mon. edition of the bachelor. They are losing momentum at 10, when they could be putting something better and more competitve on. If Womens Murder club doesnt work out on fri. I think mon. at 10 would be perfect, you already have a strong lead-in with a strong female base.

I agree. We are all equally pathetic and obsessed. But to paraphrase Orwell, some pathetic obsessives are more equal than others. Speaking of which, where is Dumont?
Actually Pisher's opinion is worth a lot more than the anyone else's.

My understanding is that these overnight ratings are really for 1/2hour time periods on each channel, not for the actual shows that air. When finals come out for Monday, those final numbers will be viewers for the actual shows. So, the CBS shows may all go down slightly in the ratings because the viewers that were watching football in Atlanta won't count towards the CBS shows at all. On the other hand, Atlanta is but one market (and not one of the big ones) so we might not see a noticable change at all.
Dancing With the Stars was the most-watched show of the evening, with a hefty 19.19 million viewers and a 4.6 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. Start packing, Mark Cuban! That led into the premiere of sitcom Samantha Who?, which opened first in total viewers (14.92 million) and second behind NBC’s Heroes among adults 18-49 (4.5/10) at 9:30 p.m.
Didn't DWtS go a couple of minutes into the 9:30 half hour???
If so, that will bring doen Sam Who's numbers, but still a good start.
I think it may have. However, I don't know for sure. I know it dipped a little into the Bachelors time.

Unlucky them. The Falcons stink (and so does the Bears...)

Was watching and it definitely went over 9:30pm. I'm thinking more than 1 minute.

My real interest (and I am sure ABC's as well) will be to see how Sam Who? does after the dancing concludes. The numbers may very well stay good for however long the show follows Dancing. Once the final dance happens, though, that is when the test begins.
