-Yesterday’s Winners: America’s Got Talent (NBC), Big Brother 10 (CBS), CSI R (CBS), Kitchen Nightmares (Fox), Flashpoint (CBS)
-Disappointing: Hole in the Wall (Fox)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: CBS and Fox shared leadership on this lackluster Thursday, with CBS the most-watched network and Fox No. 1 among adults 18-49. Third in both categories was NBC, followed by ABC and the CW.
A half-hour edition of NBC’s America’s Got Talent was No. 1 in total viewers at 8 p.m. (9.64 million), but second among adults 18-49 with a 2.3/ 8 in the demo. That led into a repeat of My Name is Earl, which promises to return to its original format next season, at 5.20 million viewers (#3) and a 1.6/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#4).
CBS’ Big Brother 10 won the 8 p.m. hour overall in total viewers (7.93 million) and adults 18-49 (2.7/ 8). On the flipside was the time period-premiere of Fox’s Hole in the Wall at a disappointing 5.37 million viewers (#3) and a second-place 2.3/ 7 in the demo. Comparably, Hole in the Wall dipped from year-ago occupant Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (Viewers: 7.87 million; A18-49: 2.2/ 7 on Sept. 13, 2007) by 2.50 million viewers, while building slightly in the demo.
Repeats of ABC’s Ugly Betty (Viewers: #4, 4.32 million; A18-49: #4, 1.2/ 4) and the CW's Smallville (Viewers: #5, 2.01 million; A18-49: #5, 0.8/ 2) capped off the hour.
At 9 p.m., a repeat of CBS’ CSI and Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares tied for first as follows:
Thursday 9 p.m. CSI R (CBS) Viewers: 9.02 million (#1), A18-49: 2.2/ 6 (#2)
Growth for Kitchen Nightmares of 26 percent in the demo out of Hole in the wall is a positive worth noting.
Also in the hour was a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC (Viewers: #3, 5.42 million; A18-49: #4, 1.7/ 5), two repeat episodes of NBC’s The Office (Viewers: #4, avg. 4.52 million; A18-49: #3, avg. 2.0/ 6), and a repeat of the CW’s Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 1.71 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2)..
CBS finished in the winner’s circle from 10-11 p.m., with Flashpoint at 8.55 million viewers and a 2.2/ 6 among adults 18-49. My prediction is this won’t be the last we will see of Flashpoint once the 2008-09 season officially begins. Second in the hour was a repeat of ABC’s Private Practice (Viewers: 4.91 million; A18-49: 1.6/ 4), followed by encore telecasts of NBC’s 30 Rock (Viewers: #3, 3.34 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 4) and The Office (Viewers: #3, 3.08 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 4).

I'm surprised it did this well last night. I didn't think it would crack the 5 million mark.

Wow - Big Brother even surpassed my expectations with the numbers.
And interesting that Kitchen Nightmares went from Losers list to Winners list in one week. Just keep putting on those crappy shows beforehand and it shall remain.

It looks like almost everything is rising with the back to school season, but NBC is absolutely killing their 10pm Thursday timeslot.
Great numbers for Big Brother - Dan really put on a strategy clinic last night. Now it's just a matter of whether the jury will vote for or against him.
-I can't understand why people are tunning in for Flashpoint. It is so bland and predictable. It fits perfectly though into the audience CBS is used to actracting. Heaven forbid people tune into a show where you need to remember what happened a few weeks ago. yikes.
-Hole in the Wall is a one trick pony who's one trick has just about expired. I think in a month it will be gone. You can only watch people try to fit in a hole so many times.
-Good rebound for Kitchen Nightmares. It's always a solid show. Not as good as Hell's Kitchen but entertaining. Plus FOX must be happy with it because they just renewed it for two more seasons after this one (along with Hell's Kitchen)

Doesn't sound like enough to call it a winner.

I've been considering skipping the finale just because the jury has their heads so far up his ass.
I'm hoping Memphis wins, but I don't think so, especially since the person I want (or would prefer) to win never does.

I didn't realize FLASHPOINT was still on with the summer being over.
BB10-The TWOP boards are filled with comments that they think Dan and Memphis are the greatest final two since BB2.
They are not.
At this point I guess I hope Dan wins for his gameplay but he's just an annoying, cocky person.
Memphis...I do not want to see this loser's life enriched by a half million dollars. He coasted the whole game by either being saved by people like Keesha who he backstabs or by ridings Dan's strategic coattails. He does not deserve the money and I hate to even see him get 50K. I hope he blows through it in a few months.
I think Nightmares will be able to eke out about a 2.5 or so in that slot in the regular season, which would be a real accomplishment. For all the crowing Marc did about Lyrics' year-to-year growth in that slot last year, it was still often a sub-2.0 performer before the strike, and Nightmares should build on that.
I figured Hole would get a sub-2.0 from the beginning. Now it's definitely going to stick around at least until Survivor buries it in a couple weeks.
