-Ratings Breakdown: CBS dominated this fifth Tuesday of the current season, with a first-place finish in both total viewers and adults 18-49 care of its combination of blockbuster NCIS (Viewers: #1, 20.60 million; A18-49: #1, 4.7 rating/13 share), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (Viewers: #1, 16.51 million; A18-49: #2, 3.9/10) and The Good Wife (Viewers: #1, 12.89 million; A18-49: #2, 2.8/ 7). Comparably, that built from the year-ago combination of NCIS, The Mentalist and Without a Trace by an average of 1.96 million viewers and 19 percent in the demo.
Fox finished second in total viewers and a close third among adults 18-49 care of game four of the Yankees versus the Angels on Major League Baseball’s The American League Championship Series, which averaged an approximate 9.43 million viewers and a 3.1/ 8 among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown for the game four match-up:
American League Championship Series, Game 4 (Fox) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.29 million (#2), A18-49: 2.9/ 8 (#3) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 9.66 million (#2), A18-49: 3.1/ 8 (#3) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 10.11 million (#3), A18-49: 3.2/ 8 (#3) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 8.94 million (#4), A18-49: 3.0/ 7 (#4) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.86 million (#2), A18-49: 3.4/ 9 (#1) 10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 8.73 million (#2), A18-49: 3.1/ 9 (#1)
Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are approximate.
As always, ABC’s one saving grace on Tuesday is the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show, which averaged 14.23 million viewers (#2) and a 3.2/ 8 among adults 18-49 (#3r). Comparably, that built from soon-to-depart lead-in Shark Tank (Viewers: #4, 6.24 million; A18-49: #4, 1.9/ 5) by a massive 7.99 million viewers and 68 percent among adults 18-49. So long, Natalie Couglin, who had better luck competing in the Olympics. As a reminder, the remake of V steps into the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour on ABC on Nov. 3.
Capping off the evening for the alphabet was once-the-fence crime drama The Forgotten at 7.72 million viewers and a 2.0/ 5 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m.-- third behind The Good Wife and baseball in both categories. Comparably, retention out of the second half of lead-in Dancing With the Stars (Viewers: 15.03 million; A18-49: 3.4/ 8 at 9:30 p.m.) was just 51 percent in total viewers and 59 percent in the demo. Equally disappointing was a loss of 1.80 million viewers (8.52 to 6.72 million) and 23 percent among adults 18-49 (2.2/ 6 to 1.7/ 5) at 10:30 p.m.
Over at NBC, The Biggest Loser averaged a typically sold 9.77 million viewers and a 3.9/11 in the demo from 8-10 p.m., building by half-hour as follows (and finishing first among adults 18-49 in the 9:30 p.m. half hour).
The Biggest Loser (NBC) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.01 million (#3), A18-49: 3.4/10 (#2) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 9.51 million (#3), A18-49: 3.7/10 (#2) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 10.04 million (#4), A18-49: 4.1/11 (#2) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.52 million (#3), A18-49: 4.4/11 (#1)
As reported yesterday, The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels will be featured in a six-episode non-scripted midseason series called Losing It With Jillian.
The Biggest Loser led into ongoing flop The Jay Leno Show, which was last with 5.42 million viewers and a 1.8/ 5 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. Comparably, retention for Jay Leno out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of The Biggest Loser was 52 percent in total viewers and just 41 percent among adults 18-49. Ouch!
In the distant No. 5 spot was The CW care of sophomore 90210 (Viewers: 2.36 million; A18-49: 1.1/ 3) and recent entry Melrose Place (Viewers: 1.52 million; A18-49: 0.7/ 2). Heather Locklear, who is slated to return on Nov. 17, will have her hands full trying to “save” this unnecessary revival.
How is Biggest Loser not in the winners circle??? I know you HATE to give NBC any credit but it beat NCIS LA and DWTS easily in the demos and yet they are winners. Come on Marc. Be fair and give Loser its credit. Its outperforming anything else on the network and all other unscripted shows this Fall.
90210-Very interesting episode last night. This season ahs greatly improved from last season. At this point 90210 is doing better then Gossip Girl. I am sure the CW is happy (in a way) about that.
Melrose Place-Very good episode last night. I am pretty sure that The CW will give this series a full season cause it has settled around 1.50 million viewers for the past 4 weeks. That is great at all numbers wise but it is holding steady.
The Good Wife-I found last nights episode so boring. I was actually looking at the clock to see how much longer i had til it was over. I am glad this show is holding steady in the numbers. The demo might be low but you got to remember this is CBS and they don't look at the demo.
The Forgotten- The episode was very good last night. I think there is a good chance they will pick this show up for atleast another 5 episodes. I mean its not doing great but it is holding steady in the numbers. The demo is low though.

Yay for NCIS and NCIS:LA! 4.7 and 3.9 demo respectively is A-awesome! I hope that NCIS will grow in the final numbers again and get yet another series high!
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting it as a season high and that it grew each Tuesday airing. ABC has potential with this show. It should be ordered again and placed somewhere on schedule. I suggest Fridays before 20/20.

I believe that may be a season high for Shark Tank, especially in the demo.
I don't recall the numbers but it looks like The Forgotten is dropping a bigger percentage of its lead-in in both total viewers and demo compared to Eastwick.
Not sure I'd keep either at this point. The DWTS Results lead-in should be ideal for a show like The Forgotten - it's unlikely that viewers will come back. Eastwick might still benefit from a move or a one-time airing after (a new) DH.
_____________ The Forgotten looks a little better than it did in the overnights.
I still think ABC should order more episodes... its doing much better than Eastwick at this point.
I have to wonder how long is ABC going to be patient with The Forgotten. It clearly is underperforming in its timeslot. The drop is alarming at the half and the fact that it fell when DWTS increased this week is another warning sign.

I actually enjoy shark tank and hope abc brings it back at some time in the future. I really hope that V is able to make some kind of headway up against NCIS. I don't get why that show is a hit. I have seen it and it is rather dull like all the other crime shows on cbs.

I think ABC will give it a small pick up. Maybe 5 episodes.
While this lineup is strong, it's strength is mostly from NCIS. Almost a 5 in the demo is amazing for it. NCIS: LA is still having retention issues keeping the NCIS audience around. However, the bigger problem might be The Good Wife. At first glance, those ratings are good. However, considering that they are just as old skewing as Without A Trace that was cancelled last year for being too old skewing, it should be a cause of concern for CBS. It's also losing a good portion of the demos from NCIS: LA.

I wonder how long it'll take the CW to finally cancel MP. Does the show have to drop below 1 mil. first? Wasn't TBL canceled with similar numbers? I know that it has the same rating in W18-34 as Supernatural (1.4), but SPN doesn't even aim for this demo in the first place whereas MP does. I mean, I know that they're now waiting for the miracle cure called Heather Locklear but these numbers are embarrassing.
Nope. Eastwick retained 53% of Cougar Town's demo last week. The Forgotten hit almost 60%. Regarding ideal lead-in's... I would think Cougar Town should be a more ideal lead-in to the female-centric Eastwick than DWTS would with a crime procedural, IMO.
