Happy Holidays, everyone. Here are the fast affiliate results for Sunday, Dec. 23 broken out overall by network, and via each half-hour by network (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW).
I still cannot figure out why the CW is airing Crowned three times a week. They could be airing other repeats of other shows and still get better ratings.
I assume they want to give it as much exposure as possible. But now its like beating a dead horse.

I agree with that. I think CBS might have been better off to have pulled TAR starting yesterday (since it didn't air last week anyways) and bring it back in February. I know that would be a long layoff, but how long does it take to do a "recrap" show?
Anyone off-hand know what the TAR schedule is the next few weeks. In addition to the normal holliday declines in HH numbers, Sunday's are going to be cluttered with NFL playoff games in primetime.

I actually looked and there's a Chargers at Raiders game next week at 4:15 so expect another overrun.
Then on January 6th, there's a wild card game directly leading in to TAR (no 60 Minutes). that should be interesting.

Thanks TAYLORJNG. So that would get us two more weeks. I think TAR should have 4 more episodes, correct? Phil said last night there would be one more non-elimination leg. That should be: 5 to 4 teams; 4 to 3 teams and the conclusion episode with a non-elimination leg as the fourth week somewhere in between (unless the non-elimination leg is in a two hour finale).
Happy Holidays Marc! All the best to you and your family, and thank you for posting the ratings over the weekend and holidays.
That ABC Santa Claus movie really gained viewers and demo by the half hour, growing by 4 million viewers over the course of two hours. And ABC probably would have gotten more mileage from that Elmo special by skedding it at 8 pm instead of the Sunday 7-8 pm hour.
I agree with the observation on The CW's Crowned. I think it has already reached a point of diminishing returns for the Wednesday original to be encoring it twice on Sundays and Tuesdays...once a week is more than enough.
Hats off to CBS for airing the In God's Name special...it was a fascinating documentary, and very thought-provoking for this time of year. Given the low rating, CBS might have done better with it on Saturday night instead, and used the "Elf" theatrical film last night, but it's so easy to backseat drive as a Monday morning quarterback programmer.
FOX should probably rest the "Spiderman" theatrical franchise as it doesn't pull in the numbers it used to, and NBC got a pretty good number from Sunday Night Football.
ABC simply repeats worse than the other nets. Just wait a few weeks. ABC will rebound. Not to the extent of earlier this year, but they can hit at least a 3 with their upcoming strike schedule or better.

NBC 2,5 CBS 2.3 FOX 2.0 ABC 1.8
ABC continues its freefall.
Maybe a 2.5 .. and that's a big maybe. It assumes that Dance Wars, Lost, Wife Swap/Nanny combo and Cashmere Mafia will together average a 3.5 -- that's 5 and a half hours to offset the other 16+ hours of low 2 ratings.

A 3.0 is out of the question.
You're forgetting Lost's ability to pull a 5.0, probably closer to a 6.0 against repeats and newcomer Eli Stone should pull at least a 3.5, probably with the chance to pull higher. They will have original stuff 3/4 hours on Sunday most of the way through, that should help too. They're going to do just fine. Plus, aside from Fox, the other networks will not be offering much in competition, especially CBS, which will be repeat city except for 6 hours total: 2 comedies that are surrounded by repeats and won't do any better than repeats, Big Brother which will be modest, Jericho, and Survivor. What a lineup. NBC could pull better on some nights than in the fall, but that's not saying much as most nights were struggling to average a 3.5 to begin with.
Thoughts on last night: Fox: not half bad for a repeat and a movie. Regular stuff wouldn't do much better. NBC: Football was below average but alright. ABC: Decent movie, nice to see Duel grow out of the lead in and through the hour. The Sesame Street movie just as well have been used earlier this week, when people were still home and not out with family. CBS: Genious move in pulling TAR last week and bringing it back on a low HUT level Sunday. I assume it will rebound in the coming weeks. The special at 9 did poorly as expected. CW: As I've said before should be WC, so it could stand for Who Cares because those numbers are flat out terrible. Time to move CW Now to either 9:30 or easy view and not allow it to kill the whole night. I'd go with a movie at 7 and repeats at 9.
