I'm surprised FOX kept it on this long. It never brought in the ratings FOX needed.

But I'm betting Fringe will be a success for FOX. But at least FOX will have more room for its midseason dramas (which they have plenty of). Maybe FOX could do 2hr wrap up finales for both shows in April/May, just to please the fans.
Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill are doing well for the CW; hopefully both shows can stay above 3mil (which I know isnt that likely with upcoming competition), but I think The CW has good counter programming against the other nets.
Originally posted by Julie: Monday nights are really a mixed bag this season. Deal or no Deal has really been taking a plunge lately - it should be doing over 10 million. America's Toughest Jobs went down by quite a lot this week, against competition. But, I'm sure NBC is happy with those numbers-LOL
Fox is not off to a great start so far. I don't get why Sarah Conner and Prison Break get so much more promotion than Bones, yet Bones outperforms both easily. They treat Bones like it's a failing show, when it had the highest premiere for them last week. Makes no sense to me. Maybe FOX should have kept SCC at 9pm and PB at 8pm. They have a filled schedule for midseason, so I think 1 of the 2 shows may be cancelled early - my guess is Prison Break, since SCC is much more hyped about.
And the CW shows got identicle numbers to last week. I think they're finally making a rebound this season.
I think NBC will be happy with the fact that ATJ was tops in the demos with a production cost that is a fraction of the competition and the fact that it grew so much in the demos from DOND. However, it can't be happy with DOND's ratings or the fact that DOND is getting older and older.
I agree that FOX Monday's will be shaken up before November. They have to. It's terrible. My guess is T:SCC gets the boot. It debuted worse than PB and will get killed when Chuck comes in.
I really don't know why Bones doesn't get treated better.
As for CW rebounding, Twins12 is right. Wait until everything comes in. The numbers still aren't that impressive.
THey can't be very happy with Deal. A show that was once getting 16 million on average is just 2 seasons latter getting 9 million. I think it faded too fast - it's probably NBC's fault for airing it so much, though.
ATJ did hold up in the demo, which is a good sign. It's facing tough competition, and it got almost identicle numbers to SCC, which is WAY more expensive to produce.
Before writing off the FOX shows completely all the shows should do better next week. The MNF doubleheader did huge ratings. Here are the 18-49 demos from the football games. Remember, next week only one Monday Night Football game :
Many of those viewers (OK mostly, but not all guys) stuck with pigskin programming during "Sarah's" season two debut, as ESPN's "Monday Night Football was also back with the two top-rated programs of the night: Game One of a double-header, with a 5.1/15 watching the Brett Favre-less Green Bay Packers still beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-19, followed by a 4.3/15 for the Oakland Raiders (who could have used Favre -- or anyone) getting kicked by the Denver Broncos 41-14.
Dekker's acting is so terrible, it brings the show down. His character isn't well written, but a more talented and appealing actor could at least bring some life to the part.
I don't think any of the actors are good--Glau is certainly attractive, but she's playing a robot--her acting range is up to the task, anyway.
But yeah, I look at Dekker and think "the human race is doomed." And if he's the best we can do, good riddance. Go machines! Terminate the mopey moron and his moody mom!

Are there any numbers for True Blood yet? I'd also be interested to see how much Raising the Bar dropped from it's record-breaking premier. I haven't seen a critic have a good word to say about it and with a few exceptions I didn't seem to go over very well here.
I'm not surprised that FOX's numbers were down against MNF last night. Great match-up and a competitive game make for great ratings. I don't think being on ESPN makes that much of a difference. I also wouldn't be surprised to see PB and SCC be the most DVRed shows of the week. I know I watched football live and recorded SCC. When Chuck comes back I'm really going to have a problem.
Originally posted by Twins12: I think the CW has done a great job getting their shows sampled by going early, but I kind of think there is someone out there watching GG or OTH that may switch over to watch DWTS or a CBS sitcom once the season starts. They also will lose some viewers to Chuck and Heroes, too.
The CBS sitcoms and Chuck/Heroes will have some effect, but CW should be fairly immune to DwtS; at least more immune than any of the other networks.

The first episode was bad, but I did watch the second episode because the cast is stellar. The second episode was much, much better than the first.

Ah, sorry mushu. Some things never change.
Continued pathetic play calling doesn't help and neither does Aaron Rogers pretending he's Brett Favre. He can cut that out any day now lol. I'm afraid my Vikes may end up in 3rd with da Bears surprising Indianapolis. I notice TV-aholic wasn't doin too much braggin either.
And in the case of SCC, never really take to the show in the first place, BECAUSE IT'S A STUPID IDEA FOR A TV SHOW. And because of the Curse of Firefly, obviously. We'll be seeing that again in midseason, with Nathan Fillion's new show.
And the mere fact that Nathan Fillion HAS a new TV show tells you why ratings are down--because the people who greenlight TV shows hate TV and want it to die.
