NBC should be used Clooney in a promo. They could have done better than that.

Rounding off the 10 p.m. time period was ABC’s Private Practice at 9.07 million viewers (#3) and a 3.4/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#2).
This was the first episode Practice had to hold it's own after the crossover. The numbers don't look different than pre crossover.

Because the writers gave the viewers a pre-crossover episode. No real medical cases, and the 3rd patient this season wanting to be allowed to die. That compounded with the fact that it was centered on the headless chicken characters (Cooper/Violet/Pete/Charlotte) explains those numbers. Had I watched live I would have tunned into ER, at least Clooney his better looking than Tim Daly, has no Botox, and doesn't have an hair piece.

PP's biggest problem last nite was ER.

I actually thought the PP ep was fairly clever.

EH is definetely worthy of a renewal. If CBS does not renew this great show they are freakin crazy

While I wouldn't call it a great show, I think it has gotten better since they added the new agent. There is more opportunity for ensemble-like dynamics. And he's pretty funny at times. I also think it will be renewed, and it is a Jerry Bruckheimer show, enough said.

Strangely, perhaps, shows that struggle in the ratings tend to make improvements and get better. Thus you hear the core fans of the show touting the improvements. Unfortunately, the verdict has already been rendered by then.

I personally felt that both of the leads were a bit stiff and lacked chemistry.

It's also true that CBS hasn't really found out what they have with this apart from CSI. But that fact would be more salient if the show was doing about a 3.5 or at least low 3's regularly. It's hard to see this doing renewal numbers in a different time period, and it is almost impossible to see this keeping this time period.

PP's biggest problem is horrible writing. The fact that the lead actress can't act also doesn't help. The only thing worth watching on this show are talented supporting cast members, but for how long can this stop this show from falling.
I guess ABC will order the 3rd season because they really have nothing else right now, but after the next season, or maybe even earlier it's done.

I agree on the writing it has gone down the drain since Marty Noxon left, But I have to disagree on the ont the supporting cast, and the leading lady. Kate Walsh is a great actress, and carries the show alone, Whent theywirte fore her and her character the episodes are great because there is no limit to what she cane deliver. Audra McDonald is woefully underused, to give screentime to the people that really can't act, like Paul Adelstein, that spends his time chewing the scenary and acting cutesy, or Kadee Strickland, that did such a poor job when give a storyline that her time has been cut to the bare minimum ever since, or actors that refuse to work unless the episode is centered on their character like Tim Daly, that spent the season phoning in his performances, but fot one episode.

PP has rebounded a ton in the past year. Even pre-move to Thursday it was much better than year one. Now we have a solid lead actress and a much much improved supporting cast. Even Tim Daly in recent eps has actually had something to do. Last year he was just female eye candy and he's a much better actor than that. Brenneman though has really stolen the show. Violet is my favorite character by far.

I've now caught up with the most recent eps of Ugly Betty and Greys and thought I'd share my thoughts (why not lol?):

Ugly Betty- This season has stunk in so many ways. Plots have been incredibly unbelievable but these most recent eps have been different. With the company struggling, especially Wilhelmina, we've gotten not only the human side back but also the comedy end has returned. We've gotten some pretty good Mark and Amanda scenes, which instantly makes an episode better. Too bad its really come to late to really salvage this series. One more season and done.

Greys Anatomy- Much like Betty was not itself this year (although better than last season imo). These last few eps, especially with Izzie finally figuring out what's wrong have been great television. Great cases, not relying on sex scenes to keep people's attention, and a great character break down in Derek (that thankfully wasn't drawn out). This week's ep looks excellent again.
