I am really surprised Drive is such a failure. The show is pretty entertaining. It was hyped up by Fox, got pretty decent reviews, was promoted for months by Fox, and the viewers are just not therere..
I'm not surprised.
IT'S A TIM MINEAR SHOW STARRING NATHAN FILLION.
Pisher, I am getting the feeling that you do not like Drive!!
That is what they should have done. They should have moved House to Mondays at 8PM, leading into 24 at 9PM. Then DRIVE should have been given the Tuesday 9PM slot after Idol. 24 and DRIVE would have delivered far better numbers. House may have been hurt a little, but I suspect not too much. House simply does not need Idol as a lead in any more, and FOX is wasting an oppurtunity to deliver a large audience with the Idol lead in to a new show.

Tim Minear series staring Adam Baldwin. Trend much?
But for real, put Drive behind Idol and see how it does.
The Inside only saw the light of day as a favor to Imagine Television in exchange for selling Fox their outer space reality show... but hell if I know what's happened to that project (i recall there being something like 12 months of pre-production work to be done... but this was summer 2005)
Which makes Drive the biggest Minear failure yet. But seriously--could I just ask--what has he ever worked on that SUCCEEDED, other than the very partial exception of Angel?
High Tide Strange World Firefly Wonderfalls The Inside Standoff Drive
He only really deserves the lion's share of the blame for The Inside, Wonderfalls, and Drive, of course.
And those were the most dismal failures of all. Of course.
Not a terrible writer--not a particularly great writer. And not a clue as to how he's gotten so many chances and blown them all.

Absolutely! FOX should decrease the power of its hits in order to shore up its flops! It's so OBVIOUS!

Drive is no Firefly. If the ratings don't stabalize as of now, I'm not even sure a summer burnoff is in order.
In all fairness, even though I cant stand cbs, it seems that so many shows from all the networks are down considerably. Damn you time change!!!!

What is going on w/ CBS' procedurals? I thought it might just be a one-week blip, but Criminal Minds and CSI:NY were way down last week as well...

Now, after easter, it is not the DST change. There is something else going on. Only a hand full of shows are Doing what they did earlier in the year. Are people getting tired of TV???
but at this point last year, the time change had happened, too. only the three weeks from mid-March to early-April were really changed year-to-year. CSI: Miami's decline the last couple of originals is also weird considering King of Queens is a strong lead-in

rather, i wonder if people are (finally!) tiring of the crime procedurals and other dark-theme-laced shows. perhaps an effect of war weariness? we saw something similar with the Friends boom post-9/11.
or... maybe after the tragic events in Virginia yesterday, a few million people opted to not watch a show about murder?

Time change should not be a factor on a 10pm show. Also, by this time last year, the time was changed already.

They might slightly decrease the the numbers for 1 of its shows in order to increase the numbers of 2 others.
Last week House got 21 million viewers post Idol. If FOX aired new episodes on Mondays at 8PM my guess is it would get around 17 million. Then 24 would increase its number, maybe to around 14 million. And if the debuted Drive and continued to air it post Idol on Tuesdays at 9PM would get 12-13 million. And they would have possibly created a new hit show that they could have continued airing in the fall.
Instead, Drive is all but done, and 24 is left to air with no lead in to it.
If you took a second to think before you speak Pisher, maybe you would be better off.
