I know I missed Pushing Daisies Frowner.

Does anyone know if I can watch it on ABC.com??

I think Conan will have a good turnout for his debut

HOwever I don't think he will do no were near what Jay was doing in that time slot. I mean I like Conan and will watch from time to time. However I just don't think he has the charm of Leno for America. I mean I don't watch any of the late night talk shows. They are just on to late for me when I have school and Work the following day. However I Like Dave, Jimmy, Jimmy Fallon, Jay and Conan. On the other hand Craig, Carson( I hate hate hate Carson Daily).

I'm sure it's on there. And, there are other ways and means for you to watch recent episodes of PD.

It's featured on the Monday, June 1 PIFC Daily Game right now. Please play!

Probably not, especially since Leno will air at 10.

Leno can be hit-or-miss, though. I never was a huge fan of Leno's because I think he's a weak interviewer.

Oh, ok. Good to know.

I like those, even Craig. Unlike Jay, Dave is a really good interviewer. Conan's good too.

Throwing around that "great" term way too much, aren't you?

You have officially made the term "good" overrated. Thank you! Smiler

So JD having Uncle Marty's phone automatically meant JD killed Marty? Some leap there, Sheriff! They needed to do a CSI or Criminal Minds crossover just to bring in some credible crime-solving work onto the show!

Like I've stated before, the dialogue on Harper's Island is so bad. But one of last night's lines, by the fisherman named Jimmy, takes the prize as the worst line uttered on TV this season. (To preface, earlier in the episode, another character hinted to Abby that the word "camping" really meant "sex.")

Abby: Do you ever think about what would've happened if I didn't leave?
Jimmy: Between us? Probably would've done a hell of a lot of camping.
Roll Eyes Smiler

Also, the way that fat dude got whacked was so cheap. It's a low-budget way they went about that scene. Wouldn't it have been more fitting for the killer to actually throw the fat guy into the nearby burning incinerator?

So despite bashing the show, your still watching it? Big Grin

You can't say I don't know what I'm talking about when bashing Harper's Island. I watch it mainly to be the most outright voice in criticizing it here on the forum. Thank you! Big Grin

But seriously, the ads for the show look so much better than the episodes that have already aired so I gotta think the series' action will rev up soon.

It's such a dreadful show.

Also, how dare you insult Conan?!? Smiler Actually, he's my favorite late night host of the past 2 decades. I'm interested to check out the return of Andy Richter as well.

Hockey is very fortunate for this marquee matchup for the Finals two seasons in a row. NBA could only wish for Kobe-LeBron or Lakers-Celtics every year right now. But I'd only 100% agree with you if the same ratings were achieved for a Phoenix-Columbus Stanley Cup Final.
quote:
For people who don't understand why the NHL and NBC were a winner last night its b/c it was not only first in every half-hour in viewers and demo on a Saturday Night against the NBA at that but mainly b/c the NHL rarely tops 2-3 million viewers for Game 1 in their Stanley Cup Finals so to get 5 million viewers the first time out, this is huge.
Huge might be an overstatement. Call me when the NHL finally gets into double-digit million territory.
quote:
The NHL will have the grand stage tonight on a higher hut-level night with no competition from the NBA.
Definitely. It helps.
quote:
The only real competition will be the baseball coverage on ESPN 1 & 2 with the exciting Women's Softball Eliminations and Cubs/Dodgers on the mothership.
At the time I posted this, the MLB game on ESPN (Dodgers 6, Cubs 0 in the bottom of the 4th) is a blowout. And, I don't believe Softball has captivated this nation (maybe not to your satisfaction!) to not want to watch a professional sport like hockey. You definitely think like a mad Canadian sports fan! Smiler (That's not all bad, though!) Big Grin
quote:
I expect the NHL to definitely top 5 million viewers but the Pens really need to win tonight or a close game in order for the momentum to carry for the league.
I've had the Stanley Cup Finals 2 games as Daily Game featured shows. Missed your Sunday entry there. If the series goes 5 games, which I do expect, hope you can play next weekend!
quote:
Harper's Island scored as good as it could...
The series has lost 65-70% from its premiere viewership. So any positive spin on its current ratings is just rubbish.
quote:
...and once the sports competition settles down after next week then you can expect it do be back in the 4-5 million viewer range.
Excuses, excuses. And when it continues on in its 3-4 million range, I will expect you to continually spin it positive.
quote:
Well ABC Saturday is just a loser.
No kidding?
quote:
I'm more worried about FOX's combo of COPS and AMW and how bad they have slipped.
Well, it's not like they're getting canceled.
quote:
Like I said before FOX should've grabbed one of MyNetworkTV's two originals Street Patrol and JAIL which always scored well on that network.
No. It's the summer. They'd have done just the same as FOX's current Saturday.
quote:
It would spark the aging lineup a bit...
With new but basically cloned shows?
quote:
...especially if you slot one of them sandwiched between Wanted and COPS instead of the COPS repeats.
You're overthinking this.
quote:
Congrads to British Television on their victory.
BGT has been one of the UK's most-watched programs perennially. It's just that this season, it got more U.S. attention due to Susan Boyle.
quote:
America's Got Talent is my most favorite live reality competition program of all the networks...
Really? I gave up on the show after its first season. It always made me feel like it's a show that'll drop your IQ 30 points every episode. Smiler
quote:
...so this is a joy to see it get 17.3 million viewers on a Saturday Night.

The British programmers are aggressive on Saturday Night and they were rewarded for it.
But the difference is the country's Monday-Friday lineup is not very varied. Their top shows are basically Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
quote:
I honestly think this folks and some of you might call me crazy.
You're not crazy. Just sanely-challenged.
quote:
If one of the BIG 4 can slot one of their reality competitions on Friday and Saturday Nights then I bet they get 15-20 million viewers.
I bet American Idol and Dancing with the Stars would get that but their demos would suffer. Actually, Dancing with the Stars did air its results show on Friday nights in the winter of 2006. Did okay there but didn't perform nearly as well as it does on Tuesday or Wednesday nights.
quote:
As I say every week there's no reason why these networks aren't aggressively programming Saturday Nights.
Marc Berman said it first.
quote:
If iCarly can score as well as it does for the cabler NICK then it can for the broadcasters. iCarly's gots another huge movie episode coming in June and I can see that one getting 7-9 million viewers since its about Carly boxing.
But NICK is the place where kids go to watch their kind of shows. Put iCarly on CBS or ABC, it would get Pushing Daisies-type ratings on the night.
quote:
If FOX were to put Idol on Saturdays then I bet it be bigger than it is on Tuesday especially since there's no real competition for it to go against except sports.
But Tuesdays and Wednesdays are more profitable for the networks than Saturdays, so we probably won't ever see it. Also, I don't believe Simon Cowell would appear on both American Idol and Britain's Got Talent (and Len & Bruno on Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing) if both shows aired on the same weekend night but in different countries.

quote:
NBC should slot a second installment of Got Talent for the regular season (Sep-May) for Saturdays.
No. It's strictly a summer show. No need to overexpose such a mindless but popular show.
quote:
I bet it works well for them especially if they had a Susan Boyle carrying it.
Uh... did you even know about Britain's Got Talent before Miss Boyle?
quote:
Who knows right?
Right. For example, who knew the Blue Jays would lose 10 out of its last 12 games and drop from 1st to 3rd place in the A.L. East?

They are very unfortunate to have that matchup. You see I think the NHL if they get the main teams visible in the Finals every year then its going to help these teams in the future. You've got to remember these teams started as nobodies just like those teams. You just got to grow the national fan bases and you do that through having superstars and great matchups in the Playoffs.

Lets be honest Douglas, 5 million is huge for NHL hockey in the states. Its the one thing that can get away with having 5 million viewers as a solid rating. The NHL will be getting to 10 million viewers sometime next decade. Don't worry about that and you heard it from me first.

I'm a little worried about the Wings winning twice. That's not good at all unless the Pens win two in a row at the Igloo on Tuesday and Thursday.

Looks like baseball won't be a problem tonight and for the first time this year I watched just about almost every softball game the last two weeks for the first time in my life. Before I would watch it occasionally but not regularly. Its mainly b/c I met the Washington University softball players earlier this year in Vancouver when they had a welcome home team Canada celebration for the softball Olympians. So I met most of the girls on the team and I've been rooting for them but also taking an interest in the rest of the games. I literally watched today's games over most of the NHL and MLB games.

Right now if this was truly stacked up against March Madness seriously, I think it could beat it. Watching girls plays is starting to become watching male ass clowns who take steroids. LOL! After I met them I'm just having a new found respect for female athletes than I did before. The game-winning grand slam Florida had to eliminate Alabama was awesome. I've watched sports for years and years and none of the male sports compare to that. At least they play for a paycheck, for some of those girls its their last games.

I knew I forgot to do something Douglas. I forgot to play the Daily Game and I really wanted to play it today. I played it for NBC Monday tomorrow. I will be there if its a Game 5 on Saturday.

Well take HI for what it is. I'm not really interesting in debating that.

Oh! you and FOX will start worrying when the numbers get in 2 million viewer range. That's why I'm worried about it now, not when the damage is already done and they may have to cancel the duo. I saw this happen many times when people say don't worry now and then its too late. Just like it was for Guiding Light when people said don't worry about it slipping and now look what happened. Its time to panic!

Street Patrol and JAIL will easily stop the bleeding of COPS repeats.

I know all about the history of Got Talent.

Douglas you watched the worst season of the show. That's probably why you didn't comeback to it. The best one was this past season.

But the difference is the days of the daytime drama are nearly over. There's still an audience for COPS & America's Most Wanted.

Here you go again with Broadcast Network Musical Chairs! Retread shows go to MNT (e.g. The Unit, 5th Grader) - not the other way around. COPS repeats bleed? An 8:30 repeat of COPS easily outdoes its 8:00 original episode almost every time. FOX is fine. It's just that Saturday on TV, in general, is down and bad.

Thanks but I won't watch it again this summer, especially that it's now hosted by Nick Carey (yes, I know his real last name is "Cannon" but I stated "Carey" on purpose Wink). My sole summer guilty pleasures on network TV this summer will be So You Think You Can Dance & of course, Big Brother 11. My clicker will mainly go to the cable networks like YES Network, TNT, ESPN, HBO and Showtime.

Those 2 are so lame. They should be so lucky to even be asked to appear on such a show.

By the way, the NBC Monday night lineup is currently featured on the PIFC Daily Game.

It was preempted by BGT on Saturday night so the finale will air next week. It has maintained strong ratings all series and I think it will earn renewal.
