I have not watched DSM at all because ABC's promos for it are HUGE turnoffs. The show might actually be better then what I thought, but judging by it's ratings trends it looks like I am wise to not waste my time.

If I was ABC, I would make sure PP is out of eps before Idol comes around or air an ep after Greys Anatomy to ensure it stays away from the Death Star. I think something like this would work for ABC this midseason:
Mondays: leave as planned- its not perfect but wait and see.
Tuesdays: Duel, Jim, Carpoolers, Boston Legal
Wednesdays: Wife Swap, Supernanny, Men in Trees
Thursday: some sort of combination containing Lost, Greys, and encores of the Wednesday shows.
Fridays: Primetime, WMC, 20/20
Saturdays: Movie night or repeats of the likes of Betty, DSM, and Pushing Daisies.
Sundays: AFV, EXM: Home Edition, Oprah's Big Give, Cashmere Mafia
Nice to see that the intense Life finale got a boost from Deal, although it remains weak demographically. Also worth noting is a rare victory over DSM. A lot of that was the better lead-in, but Deal was still weaker than PP in the demo. And it remains disappointing that so many people would rather watch NY reruns than sample another procedural in the same slot. The NY rerun pulled more viewers than even Life's respectable premiere.
GG drop-off is disappointing. There seems to be a lot more audience sharing with Private Practice than I guessed there would be, considering GG always seems a lot stronger when not against a PP original. Remains strong in the very young demos, though.

At least their 2 biggest hits aren't choked off by the strike.
Hope we've seen the lasta KN, period, after the finale. But if the strike drags on, who knows what kinda trash will be aired?
I believe the enda the strike will get the ole axe outta the shed for all the major nets.
I decided to give up on Dirty Sexy Money and didn't watch last night's episode. I didn't like Simon Elder and the more he got involved with everyone's story the less I cared. I was expecting more fireworks when the truth of his family's history with the Darlings came out , but it was the worst scene of the series. All the actors seemed off and it was like they didn't care.
Obveeus Thanks for the info about Top Model repeats on MTV this Saturday. I knew Heather would flame out when it came time for the go-sees.

Perhaps what ABC could do is place PP and DSM on Sundays, while they have new episodes.
Or they could even try them on Thursdays in place of Grey's repeats.

Or at least air one episode, like NBC did with LIFE on Monday 10pm. DSM is probably more compatible with DH, so I think it would do well there, then depending on the ratings, they could relaunch it on another night. Of course, the strike changes everything, but just a thought I doubt ABC would entertain.
PP is sadly out of episodes, so I don't know what ABC is gonna do.
Gossip Girl (Viewers: #5, 2.49 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 3), which dipped from lead-in Top Model by a hefty 2.13 million viewers and 48 percent among adults 18-49. Since serialized dramas take time to build (remember Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose), do not rule out Gossip Girl by any means. My guess is we will see a second season given the growing teen and young adult star power.
Pretty people, terrible writing. Makes for a good time with friends who like to complain about bad television.
But last night we were all shocked to ACTUALLY LIKE the show and not in the "so bad it's sorta good" way the rest of the series has been. I would be sad to see the series leave after one season if it can deliver more episodes like last night's.

Last season (the first season for CW), they brought out several brand new shows: Hidden Palms, The Game, Pussycat Dolls, Runaway. I think that gives the CW to a 50% success rate in launching new shows.

I think the Gossip Girl drop is directly related to the ANTM drop.

Well, on top of being as hot as a couple of blazing suns (hey, I can be shallow too) the boys on SPN can act the hell out of their parts, which I always find helpful when watching a show.
But, on to GG, I'm actually surprised by that dip. I've been hearing quite a bit about how the show is improving, and shows like this can grow if they don't completely suck and word of mouth pulls in new viewers. But it does look like PP is effecting the show more than I thought.

Your welcome. MTV Saturday gives everyone a chance to watch a full season of America's Next Top Model in one session. How many network reality shows offer that opportunity?
As for Heather: all the beauty in the world can't overcome a basic inability to interact with other human beings. Of course, now that the show has aired, the 'other human beings' will already know of her appeal, so she won't have to prove it in person at a 'go see'.
