Looks about right, especialy in a Super Bowl week. CBS only had 5 hours of Original Programming and they were all News Programs. Holly Really hit the nail on the head with her statements!

CBS is showing that lots of people are willing to watch the same reruns forever, but those 'lots of people' are not the ones in 'the demo'.

Agreed, but those are the folks that mainly make up CBS's demos in general so its not huge surprise.

Any time the ratings are delayed this much, the results are going to be very suspect. That is bad news for the networks since this is the start of sweeps and they were looking for important data: FOX - trying to gauge the uptick from the Superbowl. CBS - trying to gauge the strength of new shows Welcome to the Captain and The New Adventures of Old Christine. CW - trying to gauge the return strength of their 9pm comedies. ABC - a full night of first run programming. MNTV - trying to gauge the strength of new show Paradise Hotel 2.

I think it's kind of funny that with a handful of news shows (two of them on Saturday) and a whole lot of reruns playing against originals CBS can get a 1.7. While the week before, ABC had 13 hours of original programming (only one news show, nothing on Saturday) and only managed a 2.0. I also find it funny that with all those reruns, CBS still got more viewers than ABC who premiered two shows with a lot of hype. I also find it a little sad that NBC hasn't been able to take advantage of the fact that ABC and CBS are hamstringed right now to move up in the ratings.
There are 2 main nights dragging down ABC: Tuesday and Friday. Had the chimps scheduled something that can pull in 5 million people on average on each night, then it wouldn't be a big problem for them. Instead, we have shows in the low 3 million viewer range on both nights.

Strong week for MNTV in comparison to the CW in the demo.

CBS still doubled NBC's viewer numbers. I actually think that ABC had the best idea for the night (with the late start movie), but the game stayed close so the movie never drew in the viewers. Still, NBC's plan to program with repeats of The Biggest Loser had no shot to be anything other than a failure. Even if the game wasn't close, channel surfing viewers were not going to dive in to that show.

Why is it shocking??? - 17 of the 22 hours were repeats. - The 5 original hours were News Shows - The Super Bowl was Sunday - A Big Lost Premiere was Thursday Now, if they do the same thing THIS week, then it will be shocking. quote: Originally posted by lopez: I'm shocked with CBS demo.
