----------
-Saturday’s Winners: Cops (Fox), America’s Most Wanted (Fox)
-Ratings Breakdown: Fox led the mundane Saturday troops, finishing first from 8-10 p.m. with its combination of veteran Cops (Viewers: 6.46 million; A18-49: 2.3/ 8) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: 6.32 million; A18-49: 2.1/ 6). A repeat of theatrical War of the World placed second overall on ABC, with an average 5.71 million viewers and a 1.9/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m.
Next was NBC, with a third-place finish for the evening with its repeat line-up of American Gladiators (Viewers: #4, 3.50 million; A18-49: #3, 1.3/ 4), Law & Order: SVU (Viewers: #3, 5.53 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 4) and Law & Order (Viewers: #1, 6.53 million; A18-49: #2, 1.7/ 5). And last was CBS’ combination of a repeat of Ghost Whisperer (Viewers: #3, 4.30 million; A18-49: #4, 1.0/ 3) and a two-hour edition of 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: 5.10 million; A18-49: 1.3/ 4 from 9-11 p.m.). What a night of nothing!

Marc,
A few months back, Someone suggested using the Saturday posts to include and expand on some of the Cable results from tha past week. Include a Winners & Losers list for the past Week in Cable
This would be a great idea, plus get more interaction, posts and pageviews for the site.
Ghost Whisperer (Viewers: #3, 4.30 million; A18-49: #4, 1.0/ 3) and a two-hour edition of 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: 5.10 million; A18-49: 1.3/ 4 from 9-11 p.m.). What a night of nothing!
The one downside about the strike for CBS. With everyshow in repeats, they must now limit the encore Sunday repeats so as not to over air episodes (3-4th time repeats).

Why don't they go to repeats of their large stock of excellent made for TV movies. I even remember some Walker Texas Ranger movies that would be great on a Saturday night. Hallmark Hall of Fame and more. Then use 48 Hours as needed to fill out the night.
Would they have the current rights to those? If not produced in house, they may have only had a few airings with their rights fee.

I love the idea of a Winners & Losers list for the week in cable, but it would get more page views and attention on a weekday. (Media Life Magazine does a cable ratings article every Wednesday, for instance. Scroll down for the charts.) Many people read this site from work, and won't come here on weekends no matter what's posted. Plus, with such boring Saturday night ratings reports, Marc doesn't have to do a ton of work on Sundays. He can go watch some excellent DVRed episodes of Mama's Family or something.

I'm sure oodles of them were produced in house. At least enough for 8 to 10 weeks worth of good movies.
ABC Holds Lead After Three Nights of the 2008 February Sweep:
After three nights of the February Sweep, ABC continues to hold the lead (almost certainly for the last night of the Sweep) in the young adult demo, households and viewership averages, still largely driven by their strong opening Thursday night numbers.
After three nights, FOX is still showing year-over-year improvement. Of the remaining networks, ABC and The CW are showing the least slippage while CBS and NBC are showing more significant year-over-year fall-off.

Look how tightly bunched ABC, NBC and CBS are in the race for second place in Week 19...ABC and NBC are tied in demo, but NBC has a 10,000 viewer advantage. And while CBS has slightly more viewers on average than ABC and NBC, it is behind by 0.6 in A18-49.
