The thing is if ML fans watched the show as much as they wrote about it, they wouldn't be in this problem. It's Jericho all over again and we know how well that did. For those who say Moonlight will pick up in the summer, it isn't on the summer schedule. CBS was smart to locate Flashpoint on Friday to pick up the ratings Moonlight has left. In fact, I'd expect Flashpoint to debut higher than Moonlight. It appeals to the CBS audience more.

But it is the same people over and over again posting, I doubt it would so anymore of a difference if not less. I'm not a ML fan, gave it a shot and found it to be awfully cheesy but I doubt Flashpoint will get any higher than a 5 or 6mil in ratings, Why? 1) it is paired with reruns, 2) it is slated for Fridays at 10pm, when nobody will be home during the summer or even in. I do however hope to see Flashpoint succeed enough to become a stable summer series for CBS. More major Nets should take advantage, it is working perfectly for TNT & USA.

The target audience was NEVER young adults. This show is more geared toward adults, late 20 and 30s, as the characters themselves are in that age group. It's not Buffy, who spoke the language of teenagers and young adults.
Oh boy, here we go again. The Moonlight bus is hopping aboard the PI and contradicting anything said opposing Moonlight. Get ready for 20 pages of why Moonlight is the greatest.
I know its not cool how a bunch of them only post on the friday threads.

I hope so, then maybe these people would be quit about it.

Don't you mean there is uncalled hatred against a show that performs well on fridays
No because it does not preform well. Its down more then Close to home would be if it was stil on. Moonlight is not a hit. I think moonlight need to go night-night.

Please forgive me, but the following post is NOT about Moonlight. I just want to say I'm glad to see Numb3rs still going strong; while it's not much different from most procedurals, the acting talent on the show is phenomenal and it's just a pleasure to watch them every week. Does anyone think CBS might try to move Numb3rs to a new night starting in the fall, or are they content to have a perennial solid showing on Friday nights?

It ain't broke... they won't try to fix it.
GW and Numb3rs will probably not move anywhere. The only possible shake-up will be the cancellation of ML, or the shift of it to midseason (either option in favor of a procedural to go with GW or Numb3rs. Otherwise I'd expect the night to stay the same.

Basically just as old as C2H last year. I would've thought it would do less thatn 7 million in viewers but much much better in demos
Do you have the list of the demo numbers for Moonlight for all the aired episodes so far? I'm curious to see what episodes did best with the younger audience.
Excellent list here, breaking down week to week for varying demos... http://tvbythenumbers.com/2007/11/18/moonlight-ratings-2007-2008/1820
Thank you.
I'm waiting for Mredman to spin this one LOL !!The ratings/demos decline is very obvious and as a ML fan it is hard to see
Oh yeah i can surdenly spin that as you can see the numbers are almost the same as the 2nd episode and its the same as many episodes that aired before christmas. i have no idea why you say decline because the numbers are staying on the same level. So by that statement above i am definetely labeling you as a moonlight hater. Because as you can see on the numbers they are not declining at all. Not when the viewer numbers and demo numbers are higher then previous airings. they improve from middle episodes 09/28/2007 5.7/10 8.54 3.25 1.15 4.09 10/05/2007 5.2/9 8.04 2.85 1.06 3.76 10/12/2007 4.5/8 7.10 2.58 .80 3.47 10/19/2007 5.0/9 7.67 2.75 .73 3.56 10/26/2007 5.1/9 8.11 2.93 .92 3.78 11/02/2007 4.9/9 7.55 2.84 .98 3.63 11/09/2007 5.0/8 7.90 3.34 1.21 4.05 11/16/2007 5.1/9 8.16 3.57 1.20 4.54 11/23/2007 4.7/8 7.32 2.89 1.01 3.52 12/14/2007 4.9/8 7.57 2.75 .93 3.46 1/11/2008 5.1/9 8.32 3.00 .97 3.68 1/18/2008 5.1/8 8.17 3.13 .93 4.00 04/25/2008 5.0/9 7.93 05/02/2008 5.0/9 7.92 So where do you see decline??

The last 4 episodes did decline... Its not so much about how much Moonlight goes up or down each week, but more about the fact that year to year its down very considerably from what Close to Home did not only in the demo but also viewers when it was brought in to increase young viewers. Could Moonlight fans please get that simple fact through their heads? Not to mention, CBS is developing two to three dramas that sound perfect for Friday nights.

If I was doing the analysis Marc does for the shows I would have put ML on the loser list. I mean this show loses 1.3 million from its lead in, and then the show after it grows on it by over 2 milliion viewers. These ratings absolutely stink. If it had any competition whatsoever on against it the ratings would be even lower. Coming in first in that time slot with zero competition means nothing. The only reason it is even on the bubble is because of the internet buzz. I hope CBS is not stupid enough to make the mistake they made with Jericho, and renew it just to appease some fanatics on the internet. Those ratings are awful.

Duel is hurting 20/20 pretty badly, and is making them lose against "Dateline". I think they should just have a marathon on Saturday and burn this dud off.
2) What do you guys think about CBS repeating their Monday comedies at 8pm or 9pm? They could rotate amongst their 4 Monday night shows -- I'm sure they would pull in pretty decent ratings, no?
Duel won't be airing at least for the next two weeks.

When did Joel become the head of CBS ? LOL !! Unless I'm mistaken is not that decision made by CBS and not the executive producer ! I expect Moonlight to return but do think it will be a limited run and if the ratings/demos still decline drastically see CBS cancelling it ..
