Oh come now. I heard last night's ep of Fringe was boring, but to say it's "Grey's Anatomy" level bad is being a little cruel, don't you think? Cool

Yeah, she went to Mad Men. Which is probably why the first 5 episodes of this season were B-O-R-I-N-G

"Fringe" is still a good show but I knew this new Thursday time slot up against network heavyweights, GA and CSI, would be disaster.

Bring back "Hell's Kitchen" in this Thursday time slot!

FOX, please put "Fringe" after "Idol" or "House"!

The morons needs to realize they f'd up big time in not airing Hell's Kitchen Tuesdays at 8 with Fringe behind it. Very very stupid decision. Dance would've been a good Wed.-Thur. program for them but airing at 9pm both nights with Glee/Bones at 8pm.

FOX almost needs to FLIP its Wednesday and Thursday nights. SYTYCD & Glee would be great counter programming on Thursday, while BONES and Fringe would do better on Wednesdays.

Agreed completely. Fringe is probably going to go even lower next week. And, FOX ordered a full 22 episode season of it - are they just going to let ratings suffer on Thursdays, or are they going to wise up and make some decisions here? They have many, many problems this fall - Dance is probably their biggest, and Fringe is their next biggest.

They can do really well on Tuesdays with a Hell's Kitchen/Fringe combo. Fringe still has a good demo, and HK always has an amazing demo. They can cut down Dance to an hour on Wednesdays and an hour on Thursdays. It's so simple, yet they're probably going to leave things the way they are.

Meanwhile, nice premiere for Flash Forward. It was right on par with the Ugly Betty pilot 4 years ago, which is a good thing. Grey's Anatomy had another great premiere. Hopefully it won't drop off like it did last year, though. CSI also had a decent premiere, but considering the premiere it had last year, that's a huge disappointment. Seems like CSI has leveled off at the 15 million range, which is still good, but it's no longer the top rated drama on the air.

The Mentalist - disappointing. Do you really think the GA audience is the same audience that The Mentalist has? In general, no. 15 million is still good, but it definitely could have been better. If it doesn't get up in the coming weeks, CBS might have reason to be slightly worried. Or, maybe TM is just suffering from a sophomore slump.

Terrible ratings for NBC across the board. Without an election this year, there's no reason for a Weekend Update Thursdays. P&R is even a worse bomb than Kath & Kim. The Office is down, and Community fell huge in week 2. Many thought Community would be the next hit, but 30 Rock would have done much better last night. And Jay Leno - so much for Thursdays being a high-rated night for the show. Seems like audiences were more perceptive to it on Tuesday and Wednesday, although GA could have brought it down.

Can't wait for the Medium season premiere tonight!

Why the hell do they keep hiring this woman? The one show she ever created was a dismal shortlived flop. Her tenure as Buffy's showrunner marked the show's long creative (and ratings) decline. She nearly killed one of the biggest medical dramas of the past two decades, and the spinoff she was put in charge of has been underwhelming at BEST.

I just don't get it.

Though it's not much of a headscratcher compared to Frank Spotnitz getting a development deal at HBO.

I guess she's too big to fail now?

Pity the same can't be said for her shows.

I think 10pm is holding down the Mentalist more than anything. I think PP may actually win the demo battle here.

Ouch for Fringe.

Kudos to FF for bulding at the half hour, but it's not surprising really because of the pre Greys tune in.

Looks like VD is the CW's only hit right now.

CBS should have left The Mentalist where it was.

CBS made a big mistake. Like I said on Wednesday, although NCIS:LA premiered to very strong numbers, The Mentalist probably would have done better. There was no need to move it from where it was doing brilliantly before.

Smallville, Supernatural and now TVD is CW's flagship

Supernatural is NOT a flagship show. Its demos are nothing compared to the likes of even depressed Top Model and Gossip Girl.

I was going to abandon The Vampire Diaries to watch FlashForward but I didn't... more so, I had to stop watching 1/2 way in. Oh, well.

The CW has a "hit" on their hands. Perhaps it would be better for them to air TVD with Smallville? But that would kill SPN entirely. Have I mentioned how much I love how The CW spins the ratings for SPN ;D

Ghost Whisperer and Dollhouse tonight!!! Can hardly wait. I'm sure Ghost Whisperer will do well but Dollhouse is doomed (remember the ratings for season one...) especially since it's in the death slot with a horrible pairing. It seems Fox orders shows they want to cancel and then puts those on Fridays. I mean, really: Brothers?

Fringe:
I completely called the massive flopping of this overrated piece. Its a goner if it stays on Thursdays for long. Move now before the damage is done.

Bones: Consistent with last season on Thursdays.

NBC: What a hit these shows took. Yikes! NBC didn't need to do the SNL updates this time around. I'd consider putting a lot of noise into launching 30 Rock as an 8pm show into P&R. Should P&R remain low rated, I would go with 100 Questions at 8 and P&R at 8:30.

Depends on how far Grey's falls post-premiere. Last season for non-crossovers when GA was pulling a 5.0, PP would get around a 3.4. So if PP retains the same percentage and GA can stay mid-5s... it'll be a dogfight for the demo.

PP might premiere strong, given its ballyhooed finale. And Shonda Rhimes has hinted not just at Bailey crossing over to PP early in the season, but to further crossovers (of GA people heading to PP as opposed to PP people headed to GA like last season). It's gonna be interesting.
