-Honorable Mention: Bones (Fox), The Vampire Dairies (CW)
-Yesterday’s Losers: SNL Weekend Update Thursday (NBC), Parks and Recreation (NBC), Community (NBC), Fringe (Fox), Supernatural (CW), The Jay Leno Show (NBC)

-Ratings Breakdown: Folks…I am currently on a deadline, so I am skipping the analysis and am posting the results per half-hour by network (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and The CW). I will leave it to you to analyze them! Great news for the debut of ABC’s FlashForward, which opened at stronger levels than CBS’ competing Survivor: Samoa, and ongoing losses for clinker The Jay Leno Show on NBC. On that note:
Wow, Fringe dropped like a rock. My SPN is suffering, but it's the last season anyway, so no matter. Just once I'd like it to have the easier 8 p.m time slot, but that will never be. sigh. Look at that demo for Grey's Anatomy--a six point eight. That's ridiculous. I say this as a woman--how can SO MANY WOMEN like the garbage that Grey's Anatomy delivers week after week? It's tripe and it's stupid. What's wrong with women that they like all that poorly written romantic garbage? It's awful. Izzie and Dennie having ghost sex?
As much as I like Fringe, it should be on the losers list. Just 5.8mill and a 2.2? WTF? Fox won't be happy about it.
And ouch for Parks & recreation. It's such a funny show, much better than other NBC's comedy craps like Community, 30 Rock and The Office. Too bad people don't tune it.
Rather disappointing the Mentalist result. It'll pick up next week but still to lose audience at 10:30 is almost shocking. CSI continues its decline but remains a viable total audience show. It appears Greys is still king. Flash Forward launched very well. ABC has salvaged fall based on Wed/Thur results. Fox took a big hit. Bones was at average from last year but Fringe collapsed as expected. Supernatural continues decline. I think if it weren't for the CW's collapse elsewhere this show would be gone. Maybe still will be gone if the demos aren't good enough. Jay Leno took an expected hit but should still be up in the demos from late night. I also think that number is not much far off from the NBC 10pm average last year.
I agree and just added it (as well as Community and Supernatural).

That's an understatement. To finish below CSI is not what CBS wanted. Imagine if it were left on Tuesdays at 9 behind NCIS. I think NCIS:LA would've still done good on Thursdays. Maybe not better than the Mentalist but the Mentalist would've been so much stronger on Tuesdays the overall average would be higher. I'll say it again: CBS has a strange schedule this fall. A lot of unnecessary moves that don't make a lot of sense. Tuesdays at 10, Sundays in general, Wednesdays at 8, and now Thursdays at 10 are all a waste. (Note: the Monday comedy block is an alright and understandable decision.)

Kudos to FF for bulding at the half hour, but it's not surprising really because of the pre Greys tune in.
Solid debuts for FF and GA. Although, I would have thought FF would have been a little more demo skewing.
At CBS, Survivor is really declining. A 4.0 is still a very good demo at 8:30, but it's far from the show it once was. CSI is much lower also. A 4.0 is a really low start for it. Interesting the The Mentalist lost both ratings and demos out of CSI. I think CBS wanted to see it grow out of CSI or at least hang on to the ratings better. The drop at the half is concerning also.
NBC really took a hit. Community has a huge drop from it's first week numbers. Luckily for it, it's very young skewing. However, NBC should not move it to 8 PM. It's already having trouble at 9:30. P&R and SNL both came in very low. I think when 30 Rock debuts, they should program their Thursdays P&R/30 Rock/The Office/Community. Jay Leno wasn't going to do well on this night, so it's ratings doesn't surprise me. It's best showings should be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
FOX did well with Bones but Fringe completely collapsed. Those are very low ratings for it. I think if LTM does well after House, they should shift LTM to Thursdays at 9 PM. I think it would make a better pairing with Bones. Fringe should be able to make a move on Fridays and do decently.
CW did well with The Vampire Diaries but Supernatural seems to be low.
If Community is to survive at all, NBC needs to give it time behind the Office.

FF debuted good. I hope it stays strong. I liked it. While it is clearly NOT as good as Lost, ABC's been trying to launch a good drama in the genre ever since Lost premiered and FF is definitely the best of the bunch. So I hope it continues to maintain some good ratings.
