No, they probably will not. And neither will NBC, or FOX (when the scifi shows fail). CBS will own the night until their viewers either expire or reproduce and move to cable/DVR/DVD like everyone else.
And in 50 years, when anthropology students are studying the demise of broadcast television they will have a really nifty footnote to mark the end of Friday night programming.

I don't understand why everyone thinks Cold Case's 3.0 demo on Sundays in unacceptable.
Because its season average is around that 2.5 mark, not a 3.0

Add to the fact that they can't make any money off DVDs because of the music licensing issue, and it's a mess.
What can make it? Eleventh Hour. My guess is if any drama gets the Friday spot, that would be first in line.

WOW, than she is grossly overpaid. or, women on TV are grossly underpaid.

Why would the target audience of these shows switch over to ABC when they can still watch these and other shows on Disney.
Having 4 kids my self, they do tend to stay on a channel and watch those programs that air after each other.
If a Net wants to go after that audience, it need its own, fresh shows to draw them in.

Yep and ABC already airs those shows on Saturday mornings and to not so good results. It may win Saturday mornings but it pales greatly from what they pull on the Disney Channel. Plus ABC has had trouble before with the High School Musical series flopping big and the Camp Rock movie doing better on ABC Family and Disney Channel then on ABC.

She will likely need to take a massive pay cut to keep the show going then.
Me too! People who think ABC will do better with Disney comedies have completely ignored the reason why those shows do well on Disney: its a channel for kids. Their 18-49s are atrocious (as expected) and that would probably kill ABC's weekly average.

Thank you. That 3.0 number was quickly becoming manufactured reality.

NUMBERS has always managed to skate by without drawing much criticism. The truth is, a good portion of its younger audience has disappeared apart from lead in problems. It has that end of the nite to itself and yet is turning in a mediocre performance. In fact of all the CBS shows on the air, next to THE UNIT it has the vaguest identity.
The best reason to improve the 9pm hour is to improve the 9pm hour. If NUMBERS can hop on the wagon, fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it failed to get a full order for next year.

Actually, if GW holds up, CC can do demo numbers on friday not very different from Sunday, and this is one of the few circumstances where that can be said.
If GW can do high 2's, CC should be able to come close to mid 2's, with less the TA than it does on Sunday. In short, it would take on more the characteristics of GW.
I'm not the biggest advocate of 'compatibility' in this forum, but I think the two shows are compatible. I don't care for either one, but they have two themes in common - horror and reconciliation. The tease of a CC ep ends with the sense that some god-awful crime must have taken place for it to go unsolved all these years. And its vindication-reconciliation themes at the end are similar to the 'crossing over' of GW eps. The viewers won't miss these similarities.

I do think there's something to be said for the fact that CBS might not know exactly what they have with ELEVENTH HOUR. And it has held onto the aud that it did get without significant leakage.
The question is whether or not this is another MOONLIGHT hiding in a good time period.

Interesting concept, an author and a cop, and I thought the scene early on where Castle probes the lady as why somebody like her ended up being a cop was very good. I think this show did 'serious' better than it did 'funny.'
She was relatively solid. And the premise holds out some promise. But while on paper the Castle character seems interesting, I just don't think Fillion's portrayal was very strong. And the ep kind of went over the edge toward the end with him getting locked up in the car and the silliniess that followed.
I think this will get a look for a while from a decent aud, and you never know how something like this might develop. My guess is that it won't take viewers from MIAMI and only temporarily will take viewers from MEDIUM.

Bruce,
I do think CBS may have something with ELEVENTH HOUR on Friday. It did start out rather slowly as the storylines were a little too dark and moved at a snail's pace and Marley appeared to be a total miscast in her role. However, over the past few weeks since they've added Omar Benson Miller to the cast, the show is vastly improved. Rufus, Marley, and he have a very good chemistry together, and with Omar's comedic talents, the overall tone is much lighter, and the pacing of the storyline have gotten better. If they were to delve a little more into the personal lives of the characters, I can easily see it being a good compliment with GW.
Also, as the cast only includes the three of them, I imagine the could produce the show with a relatively low price tag. CBS should give it a shot. They could always have Flashpoint waiting in the wings if necessary.
