ABC: 8:00pm It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (R) [special] 8:30pm Just for Laughs 9:00pm Dancing With the Stars 10:32pm Miss Guided [series debut]
CBS: 8:00pm NCIS (R) 9:00pm Big Brother 9 10:00pm Jericho
NBC: 8:00pm Biggest Loser 10:00pm Law & Order: SVU (R)
Fox: 8:00pm American Idol
CW: 8:00pm Beauty and the Geek 9:00pm One Tree Hill
Preliminary National Ratings for Tuesday, March 18, 2008 are as follows:
It looks like AI dropped by ~ 3 million while DWTS dropped by ~ 4 million. A net loss for both. I could see this spun a bunch of different ways by each network. AI for the first time dropped in the last two half-hours, while DWTS picked up steam in each half-hour, but started measurably lower than normal at 9pm.
Obviously CBS should show the 'wrap-up' version of next week's Jericho.
But if they don't, it can always air on the SciFi Channel, which is the only place anybody's going to see Jericho, after next week.
I think the fans of Jericho owe CBS a big vote of thanks for blowing millions more dollars on bringing back a show most people did not remotely care if they ever saw again. CBS gave them what they asked for, and the timeslot is irrelevant. They should thank CBS and move on.
This is the first this season when AI loses viewers after 9pm. Of course it's also the first time it goes against DWTS Miss/guided, not that bad but e all know it will drop around 5 million in its regular time slot Not bad also for OTH given the competition
Wonder if SciFi might decide to continue on with another short season of Jericho. They seem to like what they get by running its first season in syndication.
Good for One Tree Hill for growing out of the mess that is Beauty & the Geek. BaTG should have never left filler status and doing so probably just killed the show.
Glad to see DwTS and AI battling it out. I want more of it so they can kill each other. My house flip back and forth between the two and what I caught out of it was AI doesn't have any star. They have great vocalists, but not anyone who can capture the hearts of America, much like last season. DwTS is boring already. The only personalities in the competition are going home really early. Romeo is the only one who may get people excited outside of the goofballs.

Well it certainly looks like Jericho will not be returning on CBS. Those numbers are pretty dreadful, but its kind of hard to expect more when its put into such a poor timeslot behind a 5.5 million lead in of Big Brother.
I really do hope that SCI-FI will consider picking Jericho up for a third season. They already air repeats of the show weekly and I think it could fit well into their current line up. One can always hope!

Didn't AI and DwtS at one point air on a Thursday against each other and the Winter Olympics and Survivor? lol

ABC didn't do too bad- I think next week will be more telling (with the double elimination and one of the hotter new music acts in the Jonas Brothers playing)...
Good thing BB10 has been picked up for summer- I was extremely concerned this edition was going to kill the franchise.

Yeah. Like that'll ever happen.
It is NOT the FANS FAULT...the fans didn't tell CBS to put JERICHO in the one slot in all of CBS that is known for KILLING shows. A timeslot is not irrelevant to the sucess or failure of a show.

For its first few weeks, Jericho didn't seem to need much of a lead-in--CBS was probably thinking it would make a good lead-in for other shows. But that didn't last. The show didn't have any legs. They made a mistake bringing it back. They made a mistake greenlighting it in the first place.

Sure--like the fans of Invasion, Surface, Threshold, Firefly, Tru Calling, John Doe, Night Stalker..........
