Shows are price on the actual number of targeted viewers they bring in. Total viewers don't count. Demo viewers as a percentage of total viewers don't count. Only the total number of viewers in the demo matter. Pricing is based on cost-per-thousand (CPM) to reach the viewers in your targeted demo (generally, but not always Adults 18-49).

Hope this helps.

Do ad buyers pay more based on the actual number or the percentage of the numbers? Roll Eyes

Yes I know. They think it will be the next monster but the thing is the show is as older skewing as NCIS, meaning it will never have the ad revenue that CSI pulled in at its peak.

I doubt that CBS will ever move The Mentalist off of Thursdays. CBS is very high on the idea of making it the next CSI.

The Mentalist could then stay put on Tuesdays and Three Rivers could be after CSI (where ER aired for years).
