"To nobody's surprise, moviegoers stormed the multiplexes on Friday the 13th to see the new remake of Friday the 13th. But the opening day take was even bigger than expected with an estimated $19M in ticket sales collected in the first day. It was the largest opening day tally of any film since last November's vampire drama Twilight and will go on to generate the biggest opening weekend of 2009 thus far."

ABC had its best Friday all year, CBS was close to current levels (at least GW was) and Fox had a stronger demo Friday than most. Jason did nothing. I'm expecting low box office returns for what looked like a joke.

FOX well not sure about them right now. If they can get these numbers every week then that'll be decent, but not nearly as well as the game shows did.
FOX sucks ass for giving DOLLHOUSE such a poor lead-in. Why not air DOLLHOUSE as the lead-in instead. SCC is bringing down DOLLHOUSE. If i were Whedon i would be pissed at FOX for doing this to his new show
One "Off" Friday and you are already ready to bury CBS. Those numbers look about right considering the It was Valentines Weekend and Friday the 13th.
Wht I want to know is what is up with the Ratings spike for ABC, especially 20/20? Supper Nanny does about 40-50% what it has been doing, in just one week. Seems very out of character.

Numb3rs actually lost viewers at 10:30. Its on its last legs if you ask me. Maybe one more year depending on CBS's development plans.
Fox's duo flopped like expected. Terminator, which I rarely saw an ad for, was DOA. Dollhouse, as expected did a little flexing in the demo at 9pm and did finish second, but still not going to be good enough I'm afraid. We'll see what next week brings.
ABC had one helluvah night! Wife Swap right at season's average, Supernanny really flexed at 9pm. I knew losing 5th Grader and Lyrics would help those two. 20/20 must've had a big interview at 10pm. Great numbers for that.
So much for Howie Do It and Friday Night Lights. NBC just as well ship Life back to Fridays for burn off and move Dateline (which I think would be good counter programming) to Wednesdays at 9.

FOX you disgust me once again!
So you won't watch FOX anymore? First Twilight, now Dollhouse, sucks for you right?
FOX dumped the show there beacause they've seen the pilot and they've realized the show it's horrible
Dollhouse wasn't too bad. Better than I was expecting, which wasn't too much.
Was a little creepy seeing the promos with the two gals Dollhouse and Terminator. Like looking at twins.

Oh how I wish that were true.
But I don't believe it hurt Dollhouse, because that is so not the audience the show was aiming for.
Frankly, I expected Dollhouse to start out a little stronger, then drop in subsequent weeks--at least it stayed pretty steady during the hour. A different night wouldn't have helped much, since the better the timeslot, the higher the expectations.
Question: Can you sell a TV show with the phrase "From the mind of Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer"?
Answer: No.
Showrunners do not sell shows--and definitely not this showrunner.

What 'hype'? It seems like 99% of the 'hype' for Dollhouse has been negative press.

20/20 had a Diane Sawyer special and I think the gameshows of FOX and Supernanny were hurting each other.

Marc meant the paid promotion, and there's been quite a bit.
And most of the reviews I've seen were bending over backwards to say nice things--while still indicating a general lack of enthusiasm.
Whedon always gets a free pass from the press--the negative stuff was about the production problems, the script re-writes--how many people pay any attention to that?
A show like this would never be an easy sell, no matter who did it, or what night it was on.
Yeah, but there AREN'T all that many in the first place--and I knew he was in trouble when I talked to people I know are diehard crazed fans of Buffy and/or Firefly, and they said they weren't really interested in this one.
Hey pisher...I have never seen you here on the weekend.

Well, don't get used to it. But thanks for getting the ratings up. I would imagine you'll be getting an above-average amount of web-traffic for a Saturday.
