Last week, the overnights were:

Top overnight honors moved into CBS’ corner at 9 p.m., with an encore telecast of CSI at an 8.6/13. But ABC’s competing Lost (#3: 7.6/11) should have no trouble winning the hour among adults 18-49 once the fast affiliate results are posted at PIFeedback.com.
Second in the overnights at 9 p.m. was Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics (7.8/12),
while in the fast-nationals it changed to:
quote:
ABC moved into the 9-10 p.m. winners circle care of Lost at a healthy 13.53 million viewers and a 5.7/13 among adults 18-49. Don’t forget: once original episodes of Grey’s Anatomy return, Lost moves to Thursday at 10 p.m. Second in the hour was Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics (Viewers: 12.52 million; A18-49: 4.8/11), which got a lift airing out of American Idol, of course.
Rounding off the 9 p.m. hour was a repeat of CBS’ CSI (Viewers: #3, 11.92 million; A18-49: #4, 3.1/ 7), NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice (Viewers: #4, 8.03 million; A18-49: #3, 3.2/ 8) and an original installment of the CW’s Supernatural (Viewers: 3.22 million; A18-49: #5, 1.3/ 3).
So LOST dug itself out of a deeper HH ditch last week with a less compelling episode. There's no reason to expect it to be different this week...
I don't think the greatness of last night's episode will matter. People didn't know how good it was until it was over. The ratings could go up next week though.

I think both the enhanced rerun and the original will see a spike next week, due to word-of-mouth about how good last night's episode was... And in my view Henry Ian Cusick should be at least nominated for an Emmy for last night's compelling performance.
Oh c'mon--it was a good entertaining ep with some nice moments, and a bit of actual information--"greatness"? Why is it so important for people who watch primetime dramas to pretend they're doing something other than killing an hour?

Well, he was the episode was great -- obviously it's within the context of watching a tv show and finding it entertaining. nobody said that it had cured cancer or anything...

I was saying the episode was great in terms of a TV show being great. I'll purchase the pisher-english dictionary if you release it so I can phrase things better for you in the future.
For something different to discuss while we wait, interesting tidbit from medialife:
quote:
Seth MacFarlane, creator of "Family Guy," is reportedly working with writer/producers Mike Henry and Rich Appel on a potential spinoff from the Fox cartoon. The show will center around Cleveland Brown, the henpecked neighbor of the main character Peter Griffin.

There is already a thread running on this under the FOX section.
Its a good idea. American Dad is not doing it after Family Guy. It keeps a second Seth MacFarlane project on the air while getting rid of a under performing Show.

This could be interesting. I wouldn't mind another Seth show.

It wasn't even as good as the best Lost eps of the first two season. Our standards are getting really low. But kudos to Lost for finally managing to surpass them. A good episode. And it's just not good enough for me to say it was good, was it? I have to say it was Grrrrrr-eat!
