Flashpoint is an older skewing show. The demo dropped at the half, but viewership increased. If CTV (thats who has Flashpoint, correct?) picks up Flashpoint for a third season and they keep the costs down, I'm sure CBS will pick it up for a third season as well.

This is one of CTV's biggest hits, so I imagine it is coming back.

Households of Whedon: 'Dollhouse' vs. 'Buffy', 'Angel' & 'Firefly' --> 'Dollhouse' LIVE+7 Now Outviews 'Firefly'
After 9 episodes broadcast, 'Dollhouse' is continuing its trend to steadily hold most (93%) of the 'Buffy' on The WB households from twelve years ago, but hasn't been able to grow that number and bring more households over to the households of Mr. Whedon.
While 'Dollhouse' lags behind the first 9 of 'Angel' (tracking 66% of 'Angel's households average), 'Dollhouse' is tracking better against 'Firefly' tracking at 81% of households and 84% of viewers.
However, once you add in the DVR viewing, the first 5 episodes of 'Dollhouse' (averaging 5,245,800) are tracking at 103.7% of 'Firefly's' first 5 episode viewership (5,060,000).
I think FOX learned the err of their ways with the mishandling of 'Firefly', and I don't look for them to repeat their folly with the creatively unique 'Dollhouse'. I repeat my special plea to the FOX programmers to consider dropping 'Dollhouse' in behind 'Angel'-friendly 'Bones' on Thursday night for a one-shot to try and widen the household, A18-49 and viewer exposure. That extra "coda" standalone episode would fit the bill nicely.

I don't think CBS will schedule NCIS Spinoff on Fridays. It's a high profile project that will have a lot of promotion behind it, if it goes to series.
With CBS, I think they will keep the exact same schedule they have now for Fridays in the fall. Numbers might be moved to 9 PM and Flashpoint to 10 PM, but the lineup will remain entact. It does well enough that CBS doesn't have to waste any resources in changing it up.

I don't get people. I really don't. If you're going to tune in to watch a show, why the hell would you tune out in the last half hour, especially when it is the best half hour 99 times out of 100. It's unbelivable.
That being said, Terminator was absoltetly fantastic last night. I was wondering how they were going to bring Brian Austin Green back, and the producers found a creative way to do that, just like they did with Garett Dillahunt. But Green's signing on for another pilot means that the show is all but done now.
I really wish they could grant Terminator something like a 5 episode series wrap up or something this summer. Otherwise I hope they do what they did with October Road and allow a mini wrap up. Although there's no way they'll be able to do that in 15 mins on a show like this.
These last four episodes though were stunning IMO, and even though chances are renewal are probably 1 in 100,000 (if the movie breaks records I could see it coming back easily), it at least went down with its boots off.
Hopefully the series creator will at least explain on the dvd how the ending would have went down.
How they found a creative way to bring Kyle Reese back to is amazing, and I wonder how Sarah would have played into season 3 with her not with John, but that point is pretty moot now.
As for Harper's Island I'm liking it. The good news is that they filmed all 13 episodes, so either way it's going to appear and get wrapped up online or on dvd if not on TV, which I will watch/purchase either way.
Can't wait for Prison Break to come back however, as good as Terminator was getting here. Sad that Fox isn't showing those final two supposedly stand alone episodes that will be on the dvd, as they have no reason not to considering they are all repeats/poor rating stuff in the summer anyway, but hopefully they will have a series finale on tv that wraps everything up to the most part.
I read somewhere that the dvd for the standalone might be seperate, which would really tick me off because I will have to shell out more money for 2 episodes only. There's no reason they can't put it with the fourth season dvd, and I bet you a lot of people won't buy it if they don't put it on the season 4 dvd. Unfourantely I have to, as I am in love with the show.
I am probably done with religousily watching Lie to Me. It didn't take long, as with CSI, but I'm sick of stand alone episodes. I really liked the premise, but with no plot advancement like the other shows I watch, I just don't get how people watch non-serialized shows. I know CSI sometimes has serialized ascepts, but the majority of the season has them starting all over again the following episode and I just can't stand that.
They built something two weeks ago on LTM, but this week this episode aired out of order and had no plot advancement. I'm also sick of the two weeks off two weeks on crap. It's just annoying. I'll still watch it when I have nothing else to do, but I'm done watching it online. Just not appealing enough.
As for LOST, if Locke can come back from the dead, what's to say Boone, Shannon and everyone else that died can't now either? That could be the end game for lost, and in my opinion would be just as big of a slap in the face as having it all be a dream or something, because the previous seasons were pointless then.
On the half hour ratings drop offs, even at ratings levels this low, there are always a certain number of casual viewers. Also, these ratings are projections from samples and and there are oddities appearing all the time. Some of this apparent randomness is math and some of it is the randomness of people.
I noted your love of serials and dislike of procedurals in light of your liking HI. I said the other day this show would probably have to make it with the "serial" audience who may not even watch much CBS, and not rely on the CSI crowd.
On LTM, when you refer to the ongoing story line from a few weeks ago, are you referring to Loker breaking protocol and providing info which spoiled the deal the team had worked out and angering Gillian? Or Lightman's observations of Gillian's husband's indiscretions? Something else?
Interesting comments on LOST.

That was the sked last summer when FLASHPOINT aired a few times on fri. If they thought POINT could grow out of a NUMB3RS rerun, I don't know why they just didn't drop NUMB3RS back to 9 when they made the move this winter. Both shows probably have a divergent aud from GW, but NUMB3RS has in the past proven some 18-49 strength and didn't reach its early success on friday nite without having some appeal to women. POINT looks like a big male slanter to me. At least for this year, that should have been the sked. Not saying for next year.

You're right...the NCIS spin-off is probably too high profile for Friday. But Numb3rs is not strong enough to move to 9 p.m. I would consider putting the NCIS spin-off on Sunday and, as I have said many times, if Cold Case was renewed I would move it to Fridays at 9 p.m. Flashpoint can come back in midseason.

Good numbers for all three of the shows. I wish Flashpoint would do better in the demo though. Last nights episode was very good! Marc, do you have the half hour breakdown for Flashpoint? Thank you in advance if you do.
The way Flashpoint has performed, it still has to be considered as 'on the bubble'. I can see CBS bringing it back, but only if Canada keeps paying for it and only for midseason.
POINT is CBS's version of basketball's "6th man." Keep in mind they have used sunday 10pm as place to put low priority shows, and if it came out of another crime drama, it could do decent ratings. Maybe 13 for the fall there.
I'm inclined to think of it as having the potential to be a solid utility player, in much the same way that "The Amazing Race" used to be, filling in when there's an opening in the line-up. (Okay, I don't think in basketball metaphors.) This actually fits with the programming "philosophy" of the Canadian network, CTV. They don't really want to do more than about 13 episodes in a season, and if they can do that with an American network partner to pay a big chunk of the freight, so much the better.
Actually Canadian TV has got huge financial problems. Right now the private networks are trying to get the CRTC (the broadcast regulator up here) to get carriage fees from the cable companies for local channels that the cable companies are obliged to carry. They claim that "the broadcast model is broken." In my opinion they're the ones who broke it.

The only problem is, Hell's Kitchen wouldn't end in the season, then - or would it? If they can spare a week of HK, they should give Dollhouse a try on Thursdays.
However, once you add in the DVR viewing, the first 5 episodes of 'Dollhouse' (averaging 5,245,800) are tracking at 103.7% of 'Firefly's' first 5 episode viewership (5,060,000).
