I don't know. Last year's premiere amazingly enough, grew by leaps and bounds each half hour:
Fox 8:00 p.m. American Idol 17.4/26 -- 31.09 million -- 12.8/32
8:30 p.m. American Idol 20.2/29 -- 37.08 million -- 15.4/35
9:00 p.m. American Idol 21.3/31 -- 39.70 million -- 16.7/37
9:30 p.m. American Idol 22.5/33 -- 41.84 million -- 18.0/40

Prison Break is never going to be a heavy hitter for FOX. They can try to promote it heavily but not even 8 million for the return isn't good. As I predicted, SCC dropped over 40%. This show is falling and very soon will be at least at Prison Break levels. And no, FOX can't be happy. This is supposed to be their mega blockbuser to make up for the loss of 24 this season. It's not happening. And with all the special effects, it has to be very expensive to produce. At least double the budget of Prison Break for just 2 million more viewers?
I don't think there is too much special effect, if any, in the second episode.

Last year, the rpemiere night was at about 38 million for the 2 hours.
The show is funny and is catching on. Just imagine if they had new episodes to air right now. I bet it could start pulling in 10 million +, had the strike not happened.

If it can maintain these numbers it should be alright, but I see it dropping to 9 million next week. Its a shame.
The demo is pretty amazing though considering it only had 10 million. If it can stay over 10/11 mil, and keep the demo over 4 it may just make it. We may see a few budget cuts though.
Nobody said it would do worse that 9-10 million yesterday. In fact the vast majority were predicting well over 10 million. And not even the demos are impressive
Yes, I do think the show is poised to really breakout once new episodes come back. And considering they have been reruning the same 6 or 7 episodes that's even more impressive. CBS would be smart to have it air out of 2 1/2 men in my opinion, at least for a few episodes.

AG is awesome - I could watch every night I'm sure I'll be buying my 8 yr old the video game by summer!
I completely agree. BBT was my favorite traditional sitcom in years. Great cast, great writing.

Don't know what the weather was like last year, but with a snow and very cold weather hitting the northern half of the US, people may be at home earlier than usual, ready to watch the idiot box.
I expected a drop for SCC, but wow! On the good side, it still got over 10 million viewers (barely) and was third in the demo for the night. (Given that this is FOX, it could still be considered a hit if it manages to maintain that). On the bad side, it dropped a full 8 million. While FOX hoped it would be the next 24, I think it will end up more like the next Bones.
I surprised Dance War held up so well. I heard very little good about it after last week's premiere.
CBS's repeats continue to hold up well. It gets better ratings with comedy repeats than most get with new comedies.
Props to PRISON BREAK...it consistantly delivers to the same number of fans weekly...th break didn't affect that or young males watching GLADIATORS...it even added a few more viewers.
No way does FOX cancel PRISON BREAK-they'll find a way to keep the story going.
There seems to be a lot of people here that almost seem happy SCC dropped. I'm not one of them. Its so much better than BIONIC WOMAN ever could have dreamed of being. Why people would prefer watching a bald guy and a contestant opening suitcases for an hour is a mystery.

Actually, I think you'll find that ones or 2 people predicted it'd fall to around 8 million yesterday. Go dig around Sundays rantings thread and you'll find it.
And I disagree. The demo is pretty darn good. Compared to its premiere, no, but if it can maintain this or stay over 4.0 it should be alright.

Which is kind of sad... I think Prison Break would have worked much better if they had simply planned on 1-2 years and ended it.
I think the reason DOND is doing so well these days is due to their latest gimmick where they are adding a new Million Dollar Suitcase each time a contestant loses until someone wins the million.
Last season, didn't 24 only garner around 10-12 million viewers? I do not remember the average demo for the show, so how is what SCC getting any different than what 24 received last season?
