Prison Break was much stronger already this year than last year. Those waiting for Sarah will have to wait until next year as she's not going to be on this season. I think the reason it is still on is because the characters are solid - and now I can say the storyline is back on track as well.

I heard she will be back by the fourth, fifth, or sixth episode this year.
All in all, I didn't think K-Ville was anything special. A typical cop show, with better acting. The show would be better if they expanded the cast and went for a Hill Street Blues type feel. Of course, they would have to get better writers.
Exactly right, though I'd say The Wire would be a better dramatic model to emulate (well, maybe not for ratings).
Hill Street Blues is currently airing on the American Life Network.
Because, you see, anybody who remembers watching it in first-run is really old.
OK, now you worrywarts have something to wring your hands about: The Ausiello Report has just learned that after giving birth, Sarah Wayne Callies is not returning to Prison Break after all.
Shocking, right? Especially given the way the actress' manager has been insisting for weeks that her client would be back. (The words "pants on fire" come to mind.)
We already knew that Callies was MIA from the opening credits in the first two episodes and that, for the one scene in which Dr. Sara appeared, a body double was used. But nonetheless, trusting souls that we are, we believed the mom-to-be still had a job. Well, no more. There's a story here, and you're gonna get it.
Um, as soon as we do.
In the meantime, feel free to work out your grief over this turn of events through cybersupport groups, viewing parties of key scenes from past seasons and especially tear-stained blog posts. Also, any guesses as to the "creative" way insiders are saying Callies' absence will be addressed? — Additional reporting by Ben Katner

And the fact that it doesn't fit with HIMYM's audience. Big Bang seems like a bit better fit. Hopefully Rules crashes and burns and Christine gets put back at 9:30. (waiting for snarky tv-aholic response hehe)

More evidence on why Old Christine is on Hiatis for the fall.

The whole notion of the lower ratings of Prison Break will be easier to gage when the full season of other popular shows kick in... I highly doubt the relationship or SWC will be a maor blip especially if some fans were enthusiastic by what they saw...anyway it's a show about guys in Prison..not a lovestory. YET I will say it will lose more viewers because it has to border on how much violence parents want spewing off their tvs at 8pm. It might not be appropriate family drama.
Prison Break completely lost me as a viewer with last season's finale. I was initially going to give it another episode, then Fox put the first 17 minutes of last night's online and I just didn't care for it at all. I'll be watching CBS' comedies and Chuck in the Monday 8pm hour this season.

K-Ville premiered a little bit higher than I thought it would. I turned it off after Anthony Anderson somehow drove 100 mph through traffic while having been drinking. Make it realistic.
I am glad and not really that shocked that K-ville debuted so well in the ratings. It was a good pilot and with a few minor adjustments, could really hit it's stride and become a major FOX player. I had a feeling that K-ville would be a subject that people would be interested in.
As for Prison Break, I am kind of shocked about it's low ratings. I thought that it would pull in the high 8 million/low 9 million. The series premiere for Season 3 was much better than Season 2's series premiere. The pilot was highly entertaining and even at times suspenseful. All of the main characters besides Sarah and Sucre were present so there wasn't a cast disconnect. And the first 17 minutes of the pilot was leaked online so that you could get interested in it. Perhaps it's a case of people getting tired of the concept? Hopefully it can retain those numbers and stay in the 7 to 8 million viewership range. If not, it's in trouble. What FOX shouldn't do is give up on it, move it to different nights, or do some major reconstruction on the storyline/cast. Let it run it's course as the viewership will go back up.
I also think the reason why FOX is so happy about K-Ville's numbers is that 1.5 million more people watched this show over it's lead-in. Most new shows rely on a lead-in to carry it's ratings, especially on FOX. In the case of K-Ville it surpassed it's lead in support. Thus, it shows that it wasn't just a case of Prison Break viewers being lazy and just watching Prison Break for the heck of it. Viewers came to watch K-Ville alone. And while watching it, they got to hear about the other gems FOX will be showing over the next week or so. Talk about a captive potential viewership. FOX is definately running with the K-Ville numbers while they are fresh on their mind. I just read a press release that said K-Ville "posts the network's best non-24 performance in the Monday 9:00 hour compared with all of last season". I am sure no one expects K-Ville to keep those numbers up next week. There will be people who will tune out to watch something else or to not watch at all. Practically every show loses ratings it's second show of the season. However, I don't believe it's as disasterous as everyone else thinks it will be as K-Ville showed last week that it can attract a separate audience not related to Prison Break. I also don't fault FOX or anyone else hyping those numbers. All networks want to spin the numbers to make themselves look better. Since Prison Break was a disappointment, FOX's story of the day is going to be the ratings success of K-Ville. Most critics and board members, and probably even FOX was predicting ratings in the 6 to 8 million viewership range.
As for Deal or No Deal and the Singing Bee, they are what they are---mindless entertainment. Sure they are sometimes entertaining, but how many times can you watch someone open up a suitcase or sing a song poorly? Deal or No Deal has showed some longevity but I'm not so sue it's the same thing for the Singing Bee. It was a great summer show selection but televised karaoke should be left to Idol. One show is enough.
