Thoughts: - Lost help up surprisingly well in its second week, considering other big shows like Grey's, CSI, House, and Desperate Housewives all experienced big drops from their premiere to their second week. - Life on Mars, OTOH, is not long for this world. The Unusuals doesn't take over the timeslot until April 8th, though... what's ABC going to do? - Lie to Me took an expected second week dip... but the worse news is that Idol was even stronger this week than last, so retention is worse. - CBS Evening News should stay out of primetime.
(I don't have HH numbers, but will get them in the finals)
Surprise! That's great for Lost! Even with CM is repeats, I thought it would take quite a hit in week 2. Looks like Lie to Me has not been a threat... AI will be, though.
Not a Surprise! Life on Mars. Demo was good starting out, but the drop at 10:30 is just too big.
I'm so relieved and pleased to see the strong 'Lost' numbers.
The 'Life on Mars' numbers are a concern. I found last nights episode a strange one. They seem to have really played down the time travel aspect of the series, and made it a bit more light and whimsical than it was in episodes from earlier in the season. Has the series undergone some sort of re-tooling?
Finally, though the numbers were not great, 'Knight Rider' placed second in the 8-9 pm timeslot, and it was a good episode. I like the way that the producers have fixed up this sci-fi/action-adventure series and taken it out of the car a bit.

Knight Rider tied with a Lost repeat, how is that good ?
Not surprised about "Life on Mars" -- of course "Lost" viewers, who've just seen an hour of crazy mind-bending twists, are not going to want to hang around for ANOTHER hour of crazy mind-bending twists. What a shock this ridiculous scheduling blew up in ABC's face.
Oh well...LoM was sacrificed to save "Private Practice," simple as that. Shonda Rhimes clearly has the most power of anyone at that network (up to and including McPherson)
Nice numbers for LOST. I think it will lose viewers for the next couple of episodes and then settle for the rest of its run through the rest of the season as Lost always loses viewers through the first 4-5 episodes before settling in.
ABC did a terrible job marketing Life On Mars. During Lost advertisements they were selling it as a "cop show like no other" instead of playing up its time-travel aspects which would have been a better fit considering its leadin.
It'll spike, really? I can't imagine there are many casual viewers that drop in on this show from time to time or that there many new viewers left to begin sampling this show. It's my favorite, but I can't imagine tuning in now if I haven't been watching it all along. Miss even a few minutes and you're surely "lost".
