She's one of my favourite TV actresses but that's mainly beacause of MWC.I still think Samantha Who it's horrible and Jesse was not good also.

There goes that theory. Maybe GG dropped 400K viewers for the same reason that BBT, HIMYM, DoND, Bones, and DwtS lost viewers from last week? Basketball on cable? Something else on cable? An unusually high moviegoing night from people that heard how good Iron Man was? Sun spots?

Fact? How many episodes of first run programming are you basing you HIMYM 'fact' upon?
HIMYM was often slotted behind 2.5 men in the summer but never caught on...worse yet, it usually lost a large chuck of its lead-in... ROE even in repeats performs better

Techinically it isn't,
This must be the same sort of technicality that allows Mork&Mindy to be called 'sci-fi'.

presently we have no proof...but considering how cbs has treated rules im surprised it does as well as it has...it is clearly superior in the ratings/demos vs old christine... quote: Originally posted by Marc Berman: That was true last season, but not at present. quote: Originally posted by gdfriends: quote: Originally posted by Obveeus: quote: Originally posted by WlcmBlueBloodWorstEnemy: Simple explanation: it doesn't do enough. It isn't an impossible timeslot. If you stuck Rules of Engagement there, it would deliver higher results.
If Rules of Engagement was slotted regularly into the 8pm spot, it would get worse results that BBT or HIMYM. CBS knows that and wisely keeps RoE where it is.
how do you know this?? do you have any proof? or are you just guessing? fact: ROE retains better numbers at 9:30pm then old christine or HIMYM

In other words: your 'fact' is based upon zero original episodes and your fact is based upon a couple of out of timeslot airings over the summer.

They also have a 3-hours "End of the CW: what went wrong?" night special planned for mid-season before going off the air. It will mostly be clips of Gossip Girl and interviews with GG cast members.
Can anything truly die if it never lived?

With Amazing Race, I see CBS doing exactly what they did last year. They will start out with one of their lower rated dramas in pilot testing Sunday at 8 and then move in AR there in mid-October.

Techinically it isn't, but the storylines sure are "soaperish". I just watch for Leighton Meester and for the clothes. I have a shallow side, sue me
Why techinically it isn't? It's a classic teen soap

Nobody cared about The O.C.? Hm.

Well, I guess my concept of soap(not the higiene product) is a daily "telenovela" with crappy production values. I used to put GG at higher standards, but now I'm doubting my judgement. Still, GG isn't a soap opera, it's a monday night tv show(for now). Maybe technically wasn't the right word.

FOX Still the One in A18-49, CBS Most Watched in Households and Viewers After 12 Days of 2008 May Sweep After 12 days of the 2008 May Sweep, FOX continues to holds a narrow 0.16 A18-49 demo lead over second place ABC which should widen with the next two nights of American Idol. CBS is in third in A18-49, while NBC is averaging a 1.94…no wonder the SNL, Monk and Psych encores all got yanked from the sked yesterday. Meanwhile, CBS maintains a solid lead in households and viewership, with ABC second, FOX third and NBC fourth. With the exception of MyNetworkTV, all the networks are down year-over-year in A18-49 demo, HUT and viewership, although FOX declines are in the single digit. Based on the first 12 days of numbers, MyNetworkTV is showing impressive year-over-year gains: up 36% in A18-49, up 30% in households and up 36% in viewers. Whereas a year ago, MNT was at about one-third of CW levels, this May it is trending in the one-half range.

At least the O.C. people had some depth to them, they were far more likeable.

Yep. Completely agree and people watched that show unlike Gossip Girl. Even in the lowest rated final episodes, it did a good million and a half viewers better than GG.

The O.C. was just a far superior show period. I was just questioning why that poster said no one cared about it.
