Those episodes were bleeding viewers like crazy against nothing for competition. Why would NBC want that when they could just launch something else that could also flop and probably be as cheap and who knows, maybe even catch on with viewers.

NBC is going to need cheap filler as Lipstick Jungle isn't long for the schedule. Nor is Crusoe or Knight Rider. Life is pretty much dead also. I'm not even going to go into the dead weight they are attempting to program in the summer. Celebrity Circus? Yeah, I give that one episode.
Just as an addition, the first four episodes of My Dad either went above 7 mil or got pretty close to it. TV-aholic's chart says:
02/18/08(9pm) 9.81 M 3.5 02/25/08(9pm) 7.80 M 2.8 03/03/08(8pm) 7.24 M 2.4 03/10/08(8pm) 6.81 M 2.1
So the casting for Season 2 would be justified.

There are only 2 shows on the whole lineup that aren't announced that could return: 1 vs. 100 and Scrubs, which I believe they will bring back just to spite ABC and dump in some pathetic timeslot.

Being it is a Mark Burnett production and that NBC tends to favor his projects, I see it coming back as a summer or a filler show. There is potential left in the show.

Here were the weekly ratings through last Thursday.
Net Viewers 18-49
---------------------------------------
FOX 13.45 M 4.9
CBS 12.40 M 3.7
ABC 8.92 M 2.5
NBC 6.99 M 2.4
CW 1.93 M 0.8
MyTV 1.14 M 0.4
CBS did have a strong Friday & Saturday, so they should take the Viewership title from FOX this week, but the 18-49 will be a tough one to grab, but FOX should hold on for the weekly win.
Originally posted by dumont: That low number for Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone on ABC (3.82 million viewers, 1.2 A18-49) does not bode well for ABC over the next month. What's happened to the Harry Potter franchise, which has always delivered much handsomer Nielsens on a Saturday night for the Alphabet?
This is the first movie of the series, which has not only been shown on ABC many times, but also ABC Family, Disney, and other cable networks. The newer Harry Potter movies, especially the last one, and the Narnia movie, should do substantially better, but would do even better if slated on Fridays instead.
-Percent Change From the Year-Ago Evening (Sunday, April 8, 2007) Fox: +13, NBC: -14, CW: -17, CBS: -26, ABC: -27

----------
-Yesterday’s Winners: 60 Minutes (CBS), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition R (ABC)
-Disappointing: Monk (NBC), Psych (NBC), Here Come the Newlyweds (ABC)
-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats): Dateline (NBC), Big Brother 9 (CBS), Everybody Hates Chris (CW), Dexter (CBS)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: CBS led the overnight troops on this particularly uneventful Sunday, with a 15 percent advantage over second-place ABC. Keep in mind, of course, that the return of Desperate Housewives will bring ABC to back to life next week. Third overall was NBC, followed by Fox and the CW. As usual, CBS’ metered market win is not expected to translate into an adult 18-49 victory.
CBS granddaddy 60 Minutes opened the evening with a dominant 7.5 rating/13 share in the overnights from 7-8 p.m. Second in the time period was another veteran, America’s Funniest Home Videos on ABC, at a 4.5/ 8. Next was NBC’s Dateline at an uneventful 3.5/ 6, followed by repeats of Fox’s King of the Hill (2.1/ 4) and American Dad (2.1/ 4), and a repeat of America’s Next Top Model on the CW (1.0/ 2). Keep an eye on a potential adult 18-49 victory for America’s Funniest Home Videos.
A repeat of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition still managed to win the 8 p.m. hour, with a 6.1/10 in the overnights. Second was the NBC debut of USA drama Monk at a disappointing 4.5/ 7, followed by CBS’ suddenly addictive Big Brother 9 (4.0/ 7), repeats of Fox’s The Simpsons (3.9/ 6) and King of the Hill (3.5/ 5), and the CW’s combination of Everybody Hates Chris (1.0/ 2) and a repeat of Aliens in America (0.8/ 1). Am I the only person who just can’t stand Natalie on Big Brother 9? There is one like that in every season, isn’t there?
An original installment of CBS’ Cold Case won the 9 p.m. hour in the overnights, with a 7.7/12. Second was Oprah’s Big Give (5.8/ 9), which is expected to dominate among adults 18-49, followed by two repeat episodes of Fox’s Family Guy (avg. 4.3/ 7), the NBC debut of USA drama Psych (3.2/ 5), and the CW’s combination of The Game (1.2/ 2) and a repeat of canceled Girlfriends (1.1/ 2). Worth noting for The Game was growth of a hefty 50 percent out of the Aliens in America encore. Oprah’s Big Give moves up one hour next week (in place of the pre-empted Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) to make way for the return of Desperate Housewives.
First at 10 p.m. was a repeat of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU (5.5/ 9), followed by Showtime drama Dexter on CBS (4.9/ 8), and the season (or series) finale of Here Come the Newlyweds on ABC (4.6// 8). Although Here Come the Newlyweds is expected to win the time period among adults 18-49, it probably won’t be enough to warrant renewal.
Disappointing numbers for Monk and Psych (which is one of the funniest shows on TV). I'm sure they'll still do well on USA though, so I'm not worried.
Cold Case went up a full point in households compared to last week's overnights, so apparently the time delay did have an effect on the ratings. (Big Brother was down more than a point, so it's not the lead-in).

Well, the leadin could still be holding CC down a little, but at least we know that timeshifting the start of the shows does have an effect.
