I hope he'll go head to head with O'Brien and demolish NBC, which made one of the dumbest moves ever by getting rid of Leno
I find O'Brien very annoying and very unfunny. Leno has been a part of my night time lineup for the past 3 years. Hopefully I get to see him again! When that headline came up and he said its like it's from the future, I knew I would see an article somewhere on the interent about that.
last night's mole has me wondering whether it was alex who tied for last the last two times or nicole...I still think it was nicole who tied, but if not I think she may be the mole....she's too obvious though...everyone still thinks it's paul, but my pick from the second show on, craig, the fat man, still in it.....someone with his IQ doesn't seem like he would outlast people like alex, allie and the others if he wasn't the mole....if he wasn't the mole something tells me he would have been 2nd or 3rd person off...everyone left though could be the mole in my mind except probably the black guy...my dad says it's mark the guy from wisconsin...paul would still be my second choice though, followed by mark, then nicole, and I think the black guy is the least likely. The mole would be canceled in an instant if it's demos weren't so strong....I know 1.6 isnt strong but it is for the summer considering most repeats top out at that number and reality shows are cheap to produce. This edition the players kinda suck as perfect example yesterday they only got $4,000 out of a possible $70,000 and another time they only got $12,000 out of a possible $70,000.

If he does, NBC will have committed one of the greatest blunders in TV history. I don't dislike O'Brien, but this is not the same situation as when Jay replaced Johnny. Jay will not be going quitely into that goodnight. He is still young relative to when Carson left the Tonight Show. He will be what: 60 when he leaves? He could be on the airwaves for another 10 years or so. I think the article is correct that Leno would be better at ABC and Kimmel a better fit at FOX. However, as we know, there are many shows are on nets that would be a better fit on a rival network.

The Home Run Derby did great, while The Closer not as good. From Advertising Age (all 18-49 demo numbers) :
TNT ran season premieres of "The Closer" (1.9/5) and "Saving Grace" (1.2/4), which were down 14% and 20% from last summer's premieres. Still, TNT's top-rated show would have beaten 11 network programs last night, which is further indication that not only are dramas like "The Closer" closer than ever on a creative basis, but a commercial one, too.
The audience erosion for "The Closer" may have been caused by running into closers' nightmares -- the sluggers who give relief pitchers fits -- in a summer ritual nearly as well loved as big-screen sequels: ESPN's "Home Run Derby." The demo delivery jumped along with the home runs hit out of Yankee Stadium, as the 3.6/11 was up 38% from last year.
FOX Still the One in A18-49 After 12 Days of 2008 July Sweep; CBS Most Viewed Tables Updated to include Weekend finals, Households and MyTV Data
FOX, which has been game on virtually every night of the July Sweep (can any other network claim so?), has built up a comfortable A18-49 advantage over the other nets, and it now averages a 1.9 in A18-49, followed by NBC in second with 1.6, ABC third with 1.5, CBS fourth with 1.4, The CW fifth with 0.6, and MyNetworkTV last with a 0.3 average.
Year-over-year, ABC the only network up in A18-49's (by just 5%), whereas all the other networks are showing A18-49 declines from last July. Overall, A18-49 is down 12% across the six nets from last July, and the largest year-over-year declines are being experienced by The CW (down 24%) and MyNetworkTV (down 33%).
After 12 nights, CBS holds on to its customary lead in households and viewership, with NBC in second, FOX third, ABC fourth, CW fifth and MNT is last. In households, only ABC is showing a year-over-year increase compared to last years July Sweep (although CBS and NBC are even to last year). In viewership, ABC and NBC are showing gains from last July (CBS is even) and overall viewership is down by only 2% year-over-year from last July (especially surprising given that this year included the low-viewer Fourth of July holiday). The biggest year-over-year decline in viewership is being experienced by The CW, which is down 23% or a half million viewers from last summer.

Nota Bene. This year's Sweep includes the low-HUT Fourth of July whereas last year's Sweep started on July 5th and did not include the Fourth of July.
