I said last year that all three CSI's won't suffer even if their lead actor would leave. But the problem with CSI is that 3 of the stars are leaving in a year. That might be too much
But i agree, it depends a lot on how the new actors and characters will please the audience. I wouldn't be shocked if CSI ends next year below 15 million.
I saw someone praising Saving Grace. Lat me praise The Closer. Definetely the best crime show currently on TV

I understand they want to burn it off, but its dragging down their numbers. Even with their half hour gains, a show not even getting above 4 million isn't acceptable, even for summer fare.
The good news for NBC is Nashville Star built off American Gladiator's numbers. Since one of the prizes isn't becoming a gladiator for next season, is it safe to assume that this will be its last season?
I dont think that this will American Gladiators last season. I mean the ratings for it is just like the rest of NBC's summer shows. Also the show has a fallowing.

I'm not too upset about the CSI news. I really enjoyed the episodes a couple of years ago when William Petersen took time off to do a play. Like has been mentioned, it all depends on who replaces him and how. Loosing three main characters in one year could kill the series, or it could provide a much-needed shake-up.
Some of the actors/actresses from Greys can dance circles around the folks on the CSIs. Some are not even good enough for the likes of Cold Case or Without a Trace. I like Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, Sara Ramirez, and Eric Dane but the rest are all replaceable. The leading two on CSI were my favorite on that franchise but neither is anything near the best crime drama actors of all time. Franz and Orbach are still my favorites. D'Onfrio on Criminal Intent isn't half bad either. See the ep from last fall where he was in the mental hospital and you'll understand why he deserves attention.

Some series like Cheers continued to grow as it had major cast changes.

I found last night's Nashville Star to be the most impressive so far. Lauren and Sophie were sent packing (should've happened weeks ago) and Shawn survives another day! Woo hoo! I'm hearing we get a concert in our hometown if she's eliminated here in the next few weeks which would totally rock! The show has always belonged on CMT if you ask me but if it were to end up back on USA next year, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not surprised because the concept was very limiting. There are only so many times you can sing jingles until people get tired of it.
