Dance Wars is holding very well. This will go to a second season at least as a mid-season show. No doubt about it.
Welcome to the Captain opened well. It's going to be helped out being surrounded by other comedies.
Not really impressed with AG. It did rebound from last week but its numbers are treading downward. Demos are saving it at this point.
FOX wasted its Superbowl spots on Prison Break and SCC. There was really no measurable growth in the ratings of either show. So much for the 10 mil for both shows plus predicted on this board.
CW has to be the biggest loser. They had two new episodes, didn't promote it, and had below par ratings. Girlfriends is dead. 0.8 in a demo for a new episode? That's unacceptable even for the CW. Even the Game isn't that impressive either. Note to CW: new African-American demo comedies/dramas.

Clearly, many fans were not aware that the CW shows would be back with new episodes. I think the WGA strike will have that effect on many shows, but hopefully it won't lead to a permanent ratings loss like the last strike.
It's pretty bad when a series premiere for a new show does worse then an old show. (Welcome to the Captain; got 8th for the night and 3rd in its timeslot? Not very good)
I think the best course of action for the CW is to start fresh, pick up a lot of new shows, and clean house. This year has been terrible for them. Yes, the strike might be partly to blame but they are trending downward on almost all their shows. CW is at the crossroads and really needs shows that can deliever at least in the 4 to 5 million range.
I just got tired of my screen name and decided to change it up a bit. I'm among the about five million viewers who has lost interest in American Gladiators due to the horrible hosting jobs of Laila Ali and Hulk Hogan. It was time for a change. Of course if Blue Blood and Leap don't get picked up, the name is kind of pointless.

The Superbowl promotion for SCC brought in enough new viewers to stave off another ratings drop (although a tenth of a percentage point drop in the demo probably counts for more than a tiny rise in total viewers). Since most of the new viewers won't stay (most probably didn't even hang around for the whole ep), SCC will continue its decline in coming weeks.
But FOX might still be invested enough in the franchise to renew--once.

Actually, if I read the numbers correctly, ratings actually improved in the second half hour. Rendering your "most probably didn't stick around" comment pretty useless.
Why are you wishing doom and gloom for the show anyway? Did one of the producers steal your lunch at school or something?
Yeah, they're spending a lot of money to promote SCC, but I think it's a solid performer. Had it been Mondays at 8 before 24, I'm sure it would have done even better.

I'm not here regularly so I don't know everything about the posters here, but every time I do visit the board he seems to be obsessing about some show being canceled. This is especially true if it is in any way related to the guy who created Angel, Buffy, Serenity, Firefly etc. (Blanking on his name). I'm pretty sure the Terminator was on the show Firefly, so he hates it. We all have shows we don't like, but I agree his obsession is very weird; if you are going to obsess about something, there are far more important things to be concerned with than actors, directors, etc.
I have tried and watched SCC a few times but haven't been very interested. However I agree its numbers are good for FOX. Although I thought it would be a a little more popular than it is. Do you think it will get renewed for a second season?

People might have tuned in halfway through--in fact, the difference between the 1st & 2nd half hours is so slight as to make it pointless to even discuss.

Stupid idea, stupid writing, stupid casting.

Did one of them give you their PB&J sandwich? Because you sure act like you owe them a favor.

Sure it is--they spend a fortune to promote it, and it stays exactly where it had fallen after the previous time they spent a fortune (and a huge lead-in) on it.

Sure, let FOX keep on giving it every possible advantage, to try and keep a show on the air that can't even hit 9mil viewers against putrid competition.
