They're chimps. They don't know what they're doing. I could see Pushing Daisies getting moved to Fridays and perhaps Eli Stone. Men in Trees may also end up there.
I think Pushing Daisies leading into Women's Murder Club wouldn't be a bad combo on Fridat nights. Both are somewhat procedural in nature... yeah, the more I think about it this could work. Nothing spectacular but it could work.
You know I usually disagree with you when it comes to your critiquing of lower rated critical favorites like 30 Rock, Scrubs, Pushing Daisies, and Veronica Mars
Glad to hear it!

but I have to give your assessment of the Angel series finale a resounding nod of being on the same page.
Damn! Where did I go wrong?
quote:
I haven't read any of Angel S6 or Buffy S8 and im not sure if I want to after seeing how you were a fan of Angel and are not pleased with the results of the comics that followed.
Bearing in mind that I don't buy comics anymore, and all I had to do was avoid online reviews and synopses, and there's a reason the Pandora's Box myth has resonated so across human history.
quote:
Since Buffy's first episode back in 1997 I was hooked.
I even saw the movie when it was in theaters. I didn't like it, but I saw it. I've read the original script online. Whedon is full of it when he says it would have been successful if the producers hadn't ruined it. And Serenity proves that.

Before this the only show I considered appointment can't miss television was The X-Files.
You've led a very cloistered existence, haven't you?
quote:
Whedon and company gave us so much quality from '97-'04 with Angel, Buffy, and the ill fated Firefly(which I am pretty convinced may have exceeded both of the other two if it was given even a couple more seasons.)
Whew! Off the same page!
quote:
Sue me for blasphemy on the Buffy-verse but the Browncoat's verse was effing brilliant and firing on all cylinders from the Pilot(which as we all remember FOX thought would be a good idea to scrap in favor of a less heady plot for potential viewers in what I probably consider the worst episode of the entire series "The Train Job") and didn't stop until the final episode made its way out of my DVD player.
Wow, you managed to stick almost every single Browncoat talking point into one run-on sentence. I'd say that was pretty ruttin' shiny, but then I'd have to lobotimize myself with the nearest sharp object.
quote:
But seriously, back to the Angel S6...is it really that atrocious or does it just make every mythology the series was founded on absolutely blown to shit?
I can only pick one?
quote:
I think I could handle it being "not good" because no matter how well written a comic book is it can never really capture the essence of the show we fell in love with that came before it.
Not only are we not on the same page, I don't think we're even in the same DIMENSION.
Now if I could just find the dimension where Joss Whedon never went online.
I know a lot of people talk about how "badly" Supernatural did this week, but the thing is, I don't think any other CW show would perform that well in the Thursday-at-9 slot, save for POSSIBLY "Reaper."
Exactly my point! Don't cancel Supernatural! CANCEL THE CW!!!!
Gran Friend and dl16, you can STILL get into our game! You, or anyone else interested, check in on the TV Talk chat room at times today to see if I or tvfan300 are there (we're both usually there). We can both guide you on how to register fully with the Survivor game! (And even if we're not there, College Basketball Fan, himymfan22 and probably TV-aholic can help you out in the TV Talk room as well).
More like sergeant pisher. Give me 100 pushups, maggot!
Keep dreaming.

Since you couldn't be bothered to make a decent attempt at a response, I shall simply delete the rest of your weakass s**t. Though I will say--the acting is exceptional? Compared to what? Reaper? This is why CW needs to GO. It's lowering our standards. Which were low enough to start with.
Well, since you don't watch the show, you can't know. I don't watch reaper but heard Ray Wise is extremely good. I don't know what you watch, don't really care to find out since I doubt I could convince you it's garbage as you are trying to convince me and so we are at a standstill. bye

It grows throughout like it should but its far from a massive hit for them. It could do better this year due to lack of shows but this is not going to be enough to fix the season for them. Survivor will be down considerably again and the likes of Big Brother and Jericho are not mass appeal hits. Dexter is probably going to flop like no other and the Monday comedies are probably not much better than repeats (especially WTTC). This is still a poor strike bait lineup and one that will sit in fourth in the demo for the most part.
Its no fix, but it is a good bump during this strike year.
As for BB9, it may not be a BIG ratings getter, but the slots its been placed in, it will do better than the regular programming thats been there.
It will keep them with ABC and NBC, fighting for the 2nd place scraps that FOX leaves.

But canceling the CW means SN will be canceled too, unless they can find another network for it...say the Scifi channel?
Or it could just live on in syndication like Baywatch once did.

With WWE Smackdown needing a new home, I really think this is an opportunity for another network take it, move it to Saturday, and use it to built up its Saturday night. Fox, ABC, or NBC would all benefit from having this 2-hr wrestling rebuild their Saturday night, coupling it with an hour of another young-male oriented show, preferably also reality. Cheap way to keep Saturday nights relevant.
Well, since you don't watch the show, you can't know.
How many times do you have to watch something to know if the acting is exceptional? What you're really saying is "My opinion is the only one I care to listen to", and that's fine, but please note--my opinion is rather more prevalent--
You don't really know what 'exceptional' acting is. You just like these actors, playing these characters, and you exaggerate their abilities, to flatter your own tastes.
I mean, not even a freaking SATURN AWARD nomination? Where do you get off going all pontifical about the superior thespian qualities of two guys who are going to be doing Saturday Night Monster Movies for the SciFi Channel in a few years. If they're lucky, I mean. Though I guess there's Lifetime too. They could go that way with it.

I don't watch reaper but heard Ray Wise is extremely good.
And having seen Twin Peaks, I KNOW he's extremely good--but not on Reaper.
Seriously, this "You have to watch every episode or you can't have an opinion" thingy is just not holding up, kiddo. You WISH people could only have an opinion if they watched every ep. But fact is, they watch a few eps, form an opinion, and LEAVE. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

I don't know what you watch, don't really care to find out since I doubt I could convince you it's garbage as you are trying to convince me and so we are at a standstill. bye
I don't really mind when people call 'my' shows garbage, but for the record, I'm currently watching The Wire (which is great), Lost (which is middling fair), and The Office (which is in repeats).

Why was Lipstick Jungle is the loser catergory? It held most of CA viewers, and did fairly well.
From TVWeek.com:
“Jungle” saw a severe drop-off against “ER’s” September premiere (4.1), which occupied the same time slot. In fact, every single episode of “ER” outperformed “Jungle’s” debut numbers.
