Great to see Brothers & Sisters up this week. And Desperate Housewives is looking like it could be back to season 1 quality wise. I've really enjoyed the first three episodes.

Just going by the new episodes, King of the Hill is the best show in Fox's Sunday lineup. Good to see it's finally in a decent timeslot getting the ratings it deserves. Just imagine if Fox even attempted to promote the show...

::sigh:: Not again with the promotion. Listen, it's a fine show, and FOX has done well by it in terms of keeping it on all this time. However, the less obviously cartoon-y style of KOTH's setting and characters is making it increasingly hard to buy the kids not growing up (after originally starting to show signs of adolescence). And they can't make jokes about it, the way The Simpsons do.

It's had a great run, but it should end soon.

Same here, although to be quite honest, I have though the show was back to season one quality from the episode "Bang" last season on.

Forgetting for a moment who dominates FOX's Sunday night lineup, those are really good ratings for an animated sitcom in its 19th season, guys. Give it up.

Wasn't the 8 o'clock Simpsons a new episode?

It’s a pity more viewers are not finding Life is Wild, which takes the traditional family drama and adds a new dimension by the on-location filming in South Africa. Before you close the door on it (and I had to label it a loser with ratings this low), keep in mind that it grew out of Online Nation by 447,000 viewers and 50 percent in the demo.

Or perhaps the demo just grew in real terms from 0.24 to 0.26 which wouldn't mean much at all. There's no way to know. When dealing with numbers as low and imprecise as 0.2 and 0.3, the percentage growth estimate can become wildly distorted from reality.

Big number for CBS with overrun if they hold. Remember the Saturday two weeks ago when CBS had the SEC game they lost almost a point in the demo between fast nationals and finals. Typical for those big overuns is that it helps the show following (6O Minutes) and maybe even the second show (CC). However, it's a detriment for the traditional 10:00 show.

Maybe CBS should have launched Viva Laughlin this week after 60 Minutes and the game? It certainly would have been sampled well if nothing else.

NBC was just unfortunate to end up with the game that nobody cared about. CBS not only got gigantic numbers out of Cowboys/Pats, but 60 Minutes got a huge boost in the demo leading out of it.

And wouldn't CBS been more prudent to launch VL last night?
Who knew this game would be as big as it was 4 weeks ago?

Marc,
please post the half-hour breakdowns for DH and B&S. Interested to see if B&S lost any of its audience at the half-hour mark and how DH held up as well.

That was really the first episode I'd enjoyed since season one. And the quality has been going up since then. Maybe more people will give the show another chance.

The Sunday numbers aren't quite as interesting until VIVA debuts....

Tonight should be interesting with the arrival of SAMANTHA WHO...I've been looking forward to it as I love Christina Applegate and by chance Samantha is my favorite female name.

Anyone willing to predict the numbers for SAMANTHA? And do you think they will BEAT...the numbers for RULES?

EMHE had an increase of over one million viewers compared to last week. That is amazing. In fact, most of the ABC lineup did well, with the possibly exception of America's Funniest Video. I think the reason why the ratings were down is the fact that people are starting to get tired of the show.

Football did very well for CBS.

The CW is a disaster on Sunday night. If they want Life is Wild to survive, they have to move it out of Sundays. There's no way any scripted show can make it out of those lead ins.
